These two were spotted earlier this week together at an event in NYC. Hopefully they will get rid of the lawyers and divorce talk and work things out at least for the sake of the child.

A judge decided Nas has to pay Kelis $55,000 a month in combined spousal and child support(44k) — plus the mortgage on their L.A. residence. The rapper also has to pay $35,000 to his worst nightmare — Kelis’ lawyer.

Damn that’s crazy money, I guess Nas will be doing some more touring and drop an album this fall.

Kelis claims Nas raked in $11 million for his album deal. Nas fired back in legal papers, “I did not receive even half that amount”… claiming it’s more like $4 mil. Nas claims his income is declining, and he’s only pulling in $147,165 a month.

Nas thinks $5,000 a month is reasonable for child support since the kid will just be a newborn.

Child support sounds like getting an audit, a true pain in the ass.

Kelis is asking the judge to order Nas to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, and one-half of all medical expenses after the child is born. She also wants $3,500 for the baby nurse after the child’s birth, and $20,000 for strollers, cribs and other baby supplies.

Kelis says she’s entitled to maintain the lifestyle to which she became accustomed during their marriage — they have five homes, fly first class, go to fancy restaurants, and on and on. My engagement ring is an approximately nine-carat cushion-cut diamond solitaire.

I don’t know how people go through expensive weddings, buy an expensive engagement ring and then go on to get divorced while a child is on the way! Make sure you really, reaaaaallllyyy know who you are marrying.

Kelis filed for divorce April 30. She’s weeks from giving birth and unable to work, but no matter to Nas — he’s filed his response to the divorce, asking the judge to deny her the spousal support she’s seeking. For bad measure, he also wants her to pay her own lawyer’s fees.

I don’t think this means he doesn’t want to give her spousal support at all, he may feel she is asking for too much. I’m sure more details about this will be on the way.

VIBE has confirmed that Nas and Kelis are headed for a divorce. “I can confirm that she has filed for divorce,” a spokesperson for Kelis told VIBE. “We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time.” At around 3:45pm PST, high-powered attorney Laura Wasser (who has also represented Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Stevie Wonder) filed a divorce petition today on behalf of Kelis, citing irreconciable differences. The bombshell comes amid recent reports that the acclaimed rhymer and influential R&B vixen were expecting their first child together—a son. Kelis is currently seven months pregnant.

Hip hop artist Kelis Rogers is pregnant with her first child. An insider tells US Weekly magazine that the 29-year-old and her husband, rapper Nas, are “so excited” to become parents. “It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” the source said. “They are so excited.”

Kelis and Nas were married in January 2005. Kelis is best known for her 2003 hit single ‘Milkshake.’ Nas, whose real name is Nasir Jones, is best known for his 2006 album ‘Hip Hop is Dead.’

Congrats to them if it is true, Jay-Z & Beyonce got next.
