Written by Nigel D. / 02.13.15

WQHT HOT 97 FM, the #1 station for Hip Hop and R&B, hosted “The Tip-Off” last night to a sold out crowd at the world-renowned Theater at Madison Square Garden. Puff Daddy and Snoop Dogg led the electric line-up of Hip Hop superstars and music’s elite as New Yorkers and fans in town for All-Star came together to kick off the biggest weekend in basketball. Presented by Beats by Dre, “The Tip-Off” was the premier event to be at Thursday night. The vibe of the crowd was electrifying, with everyone on their feet roaring! “The Tip-Off” was the show to end all shows of All-Star weekend.

The surprise appearances were some of the biggest highlights of the night: Puff brought out his own son, Christian Combs, who proved dad’s dance moves run in the family; Kanye West touched down for a special performance of “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” as his wife, Kim Kardashian, proudly looked on from the side; Dr. Dre joined Snoop for “Nothin’ But a G Thang” and “Next Episode”, while the king of Queens, Nas, stopped by to perform “Hate Me Now”; R&B group 112 had “Peaches & Cream” trending; and Puff named Big Sean the next Ciroc Boy, after which he performed his hit song, “IDFWU”. The night came to an end as Faith Evans joined Puff and Snoop on stage for an inspiring rendition of “I’ll Be Missing You” alongside the Love Fellowship choir led by WLIB’s Bishop Hezekiah Walker. Puff and Snoop closed out the show by bringing out all of their friends for an electrifying performance of “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems”.

Rumors are spreading that Diddy and Drake got into an altercation while partying at club Liv last night. Currently there is no footage of the fight nor a known reason for the rumored altercation. Stay tuned for updates on the situation. I’m sure TMZ will get their hands on footage soon.

Update: TMZ is saying the altercation was over the “0 to 100″ beat. They claim Diddy and Drake got the beat 8 months ago to do a song together. Drake got impatient and dropped it on his own. TMZ the states: “Diddy saw Drake at LIV Monday for the first time since the song was released. Puff Daddy x Guy Gerber – 11 11 (Album Stream)

Written by Nigel D. / 08.19.14

Haunting, ethereal, emotive, propulsive Guy Gerber and Diddy’s long-awaited collaborative album project 11 11 is at last available to the public for free…

At once a meeting of two worlds, and yet also a dismissal of those signifiers, 11 11 inverts the recent dialogue between the worlds of hip-hop and electronic music, eschewing simple radio friendly factory fare, for darker, richer, deeper soundscapes. 11 11 is not a project aimed at main-stages and masses, but outliers and after-hours.
