Nigel D. took a trip to Toronto to talk with one of Hip Hop’s new star producers Boi1da. Boi1da is the producer behind such beats as, “Uptown,” “Bill Gates,” “Best I Ever Had,” “Forever,” & Eminem’s “Not Afraid.” Boi1da recalls his rise to success from his start as a rapper to making beats for artist like Eminem, Drake & Dr.Dre. He recalls quitting his 9-5 and spending hours making beats on Fruity Loops. Boi1da speaks on working with Dr.Dre and hearing Detox and gives his advice on being successful.

Also Kanye West says people steal his, “old flow,” on the, “Deuces,” remix. Boi1da makes it clear he means no disrespect and thinks Kanye West is a very talented producer and rapper. But at the end of the day everyone samples and “borrows.” Should Just Blaze curse out Kanye West out for using soul samples? Should T-Pain curse out Kanye West for making an entire album with auto-tune?
