Washington Redskins star defender Sean Taylor died early Tuesday morning after being shot Monday by intruders at his home in Miami, the National Football League club announced Tuesday. he 24-year-old safety died in a Florida hospital where he underwent nearly seven hours of emergency surgery Monday to repair a severed femoral artery, the team confirmed in a website statement.
Damn I’m noticing the wolves are really out this time of year. My condolences to his family and damn he was only 24.
UPDATE:
Miami-Dade detectives have detained at least three people in Lee County for questioning in the death of Washington Redskins football star Sean Taylor.
Investigators believe the young men learned of Taylor’s house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by bragging about the football star’s wealth.
The suspects include a teenager and two men in their 20s who hail from the Fort Myers area.
If you balling and got money, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Everyone wants to be flashy but if it can risk your life, is it really worth it?
THE MAN SPEAKS THE TRUTH, the black community needs to take responsibility for all the black on black violence going on. You can blame, “The Man,” cops, etc. but we are killing each other. Like Deion Sanders says, how many white players are being robbed and murdered?
GOD DAMN, the NBA needs a mercy rule, this is getting ugly. Knicks might get demoted to the NBDL if they keep this up. THE CELTICS ARE A PROBLEM!
Shocking news in Washington D.C., star point guard Gilbert Arenas will be out at least 3 months after a surprise surgery. This is unfortunate for Arenas, who missed the end of last season due to injury as well. This puts the Wizard’s playoff hopes in serious danger. Full Story
A recap of the NBA 07-08 season thus far below…
Barry Bonds was indicted on four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction. The possible penalties include:
perjury: 5 years in prison, 3 years under supervised probation for each count.
obstruction: 10 years in prison, 3 years supervised probation.
Yet another athlete in trouble with the feds. Unfortunately for Barry, this sounds pretty serious. I don’t understand why he had to lie about it. If they caught you, then just admit it. His personal trainer, Greg Anderson, was released after serving most of the year in prison.
The New York Daily News reported the trouble reportedly started during the team’s flight to Phoenix, when Marbury learned from teammate Eddy Curry that Thomas planned to use him as a backup and start second-year guard Mardy Collins. A person close to the situation told the Daily News that Starbury reportedly marched to the front of the plane to confront Thomas over the situation, then returned five minutes later and claimed he had leverage on Thomas.
“Isiah has to start me,” Marbury reportedly said, according to the Daily News. “I’ve got so much [stuff] on Isiah and he knows it. He thinks he can [get] me. But I’ll [get] him first. You have no idea what I know.”
Sounds like this will get uglier than a Master P sneaker. Will the Knicks even make the playoffs this year?
