A man selling controversial t-shirts that refer to Senator Barack Obama as a slave was attacked in his New York City boutique. The man, known as “Apollo Braun,” claims that two African-American men entered his store Wednesday afternoon and shouted “Who do you call a slave, you f***ing Jew?!” before assaulting him. According to an account from his publicist, the two men worked together - one grabbed Braun’s hands while the other kicked him in the testicles.

“This is very disturbing to me that I am living in New York City and that I own a boutique for more than five and a half years [in] neighborhoods which are suppose to be the most open-minded and tolerant to any kind of art, but instead, people don’t understand me, hate me and don’t let me express myself the way everyone should be able to in New York.”

After one his consumer got a beat down for wearing one of the shirts he should of known better than to keep selling them. These shirts are very hateful and will cause a reaction, like repeated kicks to the balls(Damn that’s got to hurt).

White non-Hispanics make up about two-thirds of the population, but only 55 percent of those younger than 5.

By 2050, whites will make up 46 percent of the population and blacks will make up 15 percent, a relatively small increase from today. Hispanics, who make up about 15 percent of the population today, will account for 30 percent in 2050, according to the new projections.

I think the gap between the rich and poor will also grow as time goes on. The Hispanic population is growing too fast and it will be hard for them to support that.

That’s just from being in the business so long. You know that stuff is going to happen eventually… What I am very happy about is that no matter what people say, no one has ever said that I am dishonest or that I have taken one dime from them. [Raises voice] I’ve never cheated anyone out of a dime. No one’s ever said that, right? As far as Foxy or Tierra Marie, these are people that I have given chances to. Sometimes it don’t work out. It’s understandable that they would be upset, but you got to look at it [from] my point of view as well. I did give them chances. I gave Tierra Marie the same shot I gave Rihanna. Look at where Rihanna is. Look how that turned out. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. I wish I could make every single person successful but that just is not reality. That’s not even realistic.

Shawty Lo won Breakthrough Artist of the Year at Ozone Magazine’s third annual awards show held on Monday evening at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.  About his win, Shawty Lo said “It was an honor just to be nominated but to win is a good feeling and to win for Breakthrough Artist is a blessing because I feel like I did just that this past year.  I also really appreciate the fans for supporting me through it all and I also thank God for allowing me to keep doing what I love to do.”  The rising MC was also nominated for four other awards including Album of the Year. 

In addition to working on his sophomore CD currently entitled Carlos, as well as a putting the finishing touches on an autobiographical book, Shawty Lo recently delved into acting, landing his first major movie role in the upcoming feature film Black Bag.  As if his plate wasn’t full enough, the busy entrepreneur is also participating in the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes walk on September 20th to be held at Atlanta’s Grant Park where he is encouraging people to join him in the walk and/or sponsor his team, the Diabetes Destroyers.  Shawty Lo was diagnosed with the illness in 2001.
