In the June issue of XXL magazine, troubled rapper the Game breaks down, in an interview that was conducted three days before starting a 60-day bid for a gun violation. “My life is f—ed up right now,” he says. “I’m in a f—ed up place. My fans love me, and I know what they want but in a minute, I’m not gonna be physically capable of pleasing the world with music. Because my mind isn’t right. People are driving me under God’s good earth.”

“The tears coming from my left eye are from my shit that I’m dealing with in my life,” he says “and the tears down my right cheek are tears for hip-hop.”

Full Story

Tears for Hip Hop, A little over dramatic don’t you think? I think the Game has a lot of potential and can deliver a hot album, he just needs to stop name dropping and forget about Dre and 50.

Beyonce’s Next Album May Be The Last?(Yea Right)

BeeTRL11

The diva is currently working on a new album, but her cousin Angelica Knowles tells our source that it will be her last. Instead, Beyonce plans to spend her days scouting talent for new hubby Jay-Z’s upcoming label, The Carter Music Group.

I think the new marketing technique in the music industry  is to get people thinking your next album will be the last. It makes sense for her to try it with her husband(?) being the one that got the trend going with the, “Black Album.” Now the Game & Lupe Fiasco are acting like their third albums will be their last, but I doubt it.

The video features Linkin Park and will be directed by Chris Robinson. The single is produced by Cool & Dre and the video is set to be released in May. Busta Rhymes has this to say about the first single, “It ain’t just about the ‘hood, it ain’t just about the suburbs, it’s about everybody. This is one of those songs that can’t be described better than touching the souls of the common people.”

Hopefully Busta will keep out of drama and deliver a solid album.

The album weaves hip-hop, jazz, pop, funk and other genres around frank, positive messages drawn from Cosby’s lyrics, stories and musical ideas. Cosby does not rap or sing on the album. He is on board as executive producer and co-writer.

Alicia Keys Thinks, "Gangsta Rap," Was Created To Make Blacks Kill Each Other

aa91

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: “‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. ‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.”

“the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”

Full Story

I think Gangsta rap was created from people conveying the struggles they went through or seen in their environment. I don’t think the government is behind the deaths of Tupac & Biggie either.
