New Year’s Eve Is A Day Of Reflection

With 2008 coming to an end, I want people to comment on how this year went for them. From the highs(visiting RealTalkNY) to the lows. What were some highlights for this year and how did this year compare to others?

Also if you have any new year resolutions, feel free to post them. Everybody is going to have to get on thier grind in 2009 with the recession probably getting worse before it gets better.

Rosenberg Round Table Discussion - Arab Money

Since the chorus is mocking the arabic language (it’s not actually arabic or any language for that matter), in a sensitive world, yes, Arab Money is racist.  With that said, I didn’t think much of it and I wouldn’t call it racist.

Timeout, How Can T-Pain Complain About Swagger Jackers?

On T-Pain’s new album, “Thr33 Ringz,” he addresses people using auto-tune on a track called Karaoke. Obviously he would despise people using the same effect he uses in all his music. Instead of paying him crazy money for a hook people figure they can just do it themselves. With that said how can he make a song going at, “Swagger Jackers,” when his people use it more than anyone else. Lil Wayne & Kanye West combined use the effect more than the entire industry, with Kanye even dropping an entire album with the vocoder. T-Pain didn’t create the effect so he can’t pick an choose who is allowed to use it with out getting the, “Swagger Jacker,” title. Most people don’t even sound good with the effect so its best for T-Pain to just focus on making the hits and not call anyone a, “Swagger Jacker.”

On another note the, “Thr33 Ringz,” album is pretty good and drops 11/11/08.

How Many Classic Albums Has Eminem Dropped?

So Ali along with a lot of readers disagreed with Eminem being voted the best rapper alive as, “Stop The Madness,” worthy. So I talked to Ali about it and I said Eminem doesn’t have any classic albums and Ali replied he has three. So we wanted to hear what readers thought of about it, how many classic albums has Eminem really dropped?

Albums Dropped: The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show & Encore

Eminem is a very talented MC, and can kill a track when he is ready. I just think he puts too many bs songs on his albums, just my opinion. And oh yea, maybe he did drop one classic album.

ALI - In my opinion, there are about 10 emcees who can potentially be the “best rapper alive” and it all depends on how much influence that particular person had on you.  For me, it was Em but for Nigel, it might’ve been Jay and I’m sure the readers have their own… I lost my mind in this discussion when Nigel said “em doesn’t have any classic albums”  Em has atleast 3 classic albums and I even go as far as putting “the devils night” as the 4th…  There will never be a concenses about “the best rapper alive” but Em having 3 classic albums is a FACT.  Nigel, you listening?

Stop The Madness: Eminem Voted As The Best Rapper Alive Over Jay-Z

VIBE has today announced Eminem as the winner of the Best Rapper Alive competition. The Detroit native beat out New York’s rap king Jay-Z in the Final Round with 69 percent of the votes, crowning him as the people’s choice for the true king of hip hop. The results of the contest are detailed in VIBE’s November 2008 issue hitting newsstands October 21st.

“It’s obviously an honor to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive,” says Eminem in response to his victory. “I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah I’ll accept!”

More than 920,000 votes were cast since the contest began on July 21, 2008.

Em hasn’t even dropped an album since 2004 and he is put over Jay-Z?
