Usher drops his fifth album, “Here I Stand,” tomorrow May 27th. A lot has changed for Usher since his last CD in 2004, most importantly he is now married and has a son. Here has already released videos for, “Love In This Club,” & “Moving Mountains.” Tracks getting a lot of attention include, “Love In This Club Part 2,” and, “Best Thing,” featuring Jay-Z. Four albums deep into an incredibly-successful career, hit-making is no longer a challenge for R&B superstar Usher, its common practice. So while the lead single for his new LP, Here I Stand, represents classic Usher, the album itself veers away from the formulaic approach of his earlier efforts. The infectious club smash “Love In This Club” is “Yeah!” revamped for 2008, with poppier synths, slower-toned vocals, and a guest verse from go-to Southern-staple Young Jeezy, and it serves as an equally effective album opener. But while the memorable Confessions featured a barrage of instant hits towards the front, and slowed towards the long back-half, Here I Stand moves along at a gradual pace that allows Usher to limit filler and maximize the quality of his best cuts.

This year the BET awards will feature performances by, Mary J. Blige, Nelly, Mariah Carey, Usher & Lil Wayne. T-Pain got the most nominations with 5 followed by Chris Brown(4), Kanye West(3), Keyshia Cole(3) and Mary J. Blige(3). The show will  broadcast live June 24th @ 8 p.m. ET/PT. I told everyone I am taking blogs to places they never been before. Through some luck and hustling, I managed to attend BET’s press conference for the 2008 BET Awards. The press conference was live while 106 & Park was airing. BET brought out the heavy weights to announce the nominations. People in attendance included Stephen Hill(BET’s Executive Vice President), Nelly, Mary J. Blige, Usher & Lil Wayne. Of course I got crazy pics, check below for a few and then look at the full gallery for the full set.

Lil Wayne was actually sober and Rosci was looking good. Usher was extra exclusive, only answering a few questions and not doing the red carpet, but you know I still got pics.
