T.I. establishes the mark for biggest jump to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, as “Whatever You Want” soars 71-1 in its third week on the list. The new chart will be published tomorrow (Aug. 28) on Billboard.biz.

A No. 1 opening on Hot Digital Songs with sales of 205,000 downloads is the impetus for the record-setting Hot 100 move, which surpasses the 64-1 hike taken by Maroon 5’s “Makes Me Wonder” in the May 12, 2007, issue.

Looks like this album will have no problem selling. With all the tracks being leaked(I Wonder How?) the label should just push the release date up.

You don’t make any sense, once a song hits the net it will be everywhere, there is no way to stop that. Also people can download every album before it comes out, me posting a song is not affecting anything and I don’t have it for download. People make their decisions on whether to buy an album after listening to it these days are to show support for artist they like. How many albums have you bought this year?

The MC — who will perform a song from Paper Trail at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7 — obviously isn’t upset with how well “Swagger Like Us” (or “S.L.U.”) turned out or even the immediate positive reaction it’s gotten. He just had planned on presenting his song properly rather than having it just thrown out there. He said it could have been “that much bigger” if he’d had the chance to roll it out in grand fashion.

“Don’t ruin the event,” he lamented. “Wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That’s like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and I think it takes away from the fans as well. When it’s time, I’mma give it to you. They leaked my record with me and The-Dream ["Like I Do"] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I’m not used to it.”
