Top 5 Rap Beefs in 2008: The Year Of The Chain Snatchings & Youtube Videos

5. Yung Berg vs. Everybody

Yung Berg Gets @ Ne-Yo for his comments(Ne-Yo said he would smack him)

In 2008 Yung Berg ran into a lot of trouble from his chain being snatched, being smacked by Maino, making negative comments about dark skin females and beef with Ne-Yo & Brisco. He still got a chance if he comes back in 2009 a lot more humble.

I’m The Best Whoever Did It (I Do It For Hip Hop!)

Dear Nas,

I owe you an apology. Arguably you’re one of the best rappers ever and I’m a fan of your art. However, when I first heard that you intended to name your last album NIGGER, I was completely outraged. As if you had called me one to my face. Unwanted emotions were provoked inside of me when I just thought about approaching the counter of the music outlet that I patronize and asking to purchase the cd titled NIGGER. I thought about the preconceived stares that I would receive by other patrons as I waited in line to make my purchase. I was angry with you Nas. I wanted to hear your music, but I was afraid to support a cd titled NIGGER. I didn’t know what to expect.

Soulja Boy Says Nas Killed Hip Hop & His Own Career

SMH very bad idea for him to make that statement, the label needs to pull this video asap lol. Hip Hop fans will hate the fact that he just got in the game and is mentioning a legend.

On another note Lil Wayne did not start the saying, “I’m the best rapper alive.”

50 Cent Says Nas Is Finished & Questions What Is A Win For Him

Nas threw a shot on “Queens Get the Money,” and you didn’t respond. You getting all Gandhi on us?

50 Cent: Man, Nas is cold as ice. Nas is the block of ice that sunk the Titanic… I didn’t even hear his record. I didn’t even hear what you talking about… I really don’t want to talk about Nas. I think he’s at one of those points to where his career’s finished, to be honest. He’s had some great moments and made good music in the past, but he no longer has the interest of the general public or myself.

50 Cent:The public will tell me that Curtis is a failure. And I sold 700,000 copies the first week. So what do I gotta do? Reach a million, at a minimum?!

That’s the bar you set. You’re the SoundScan Killer, remember?

50 Cent: Right, but if we’re gonna call that a failure, then somebody identify what a win is for me. All I need to know is what it is, and then I’ll go ’head and go. Musically, from my perspective, Curtis was exactly what I aimed for it to be. Or I wouldn’t have presented it to the public. I listen to my music before I put it out. I’m listening to it, and I’m hearing it, and I’m like, Yeah, this is what I wanna do now.

What would be considered a win for 50 for the next album? I don’t think it should be defined by sales, rather the quality of the music. “Get Up,” wasn’t horrible, but it was an average track not poppin enough to be a first single. Something big has to drop in the next few months to get 50 back on top.

And oh yea, is Nas finished in your opinion?
