GZA - Paper Plate (50 Cent Diss)
One of the most renowned and continually relevant hip-hop emcees of all time, GZA returns with his long awaited fifth solo album, “ProTools.” An original member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, GZA has established himself as a perennial force in hip-hop over his 13+ year solo career. Recently, GZA’s contributions have driven the phenomenal success of the 2008 Wu-Tang Clan reunion album “8 Diagrams” as well as two of independent hip-hop’s recent flagship releases: Think Differently Music: “Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture” and the DJ Muggs/GZA collaboration “Grandmasters.”

Video: GZA Disses 50 Cent Some More
The video was weird due to the random clips thrown in it, it’s 12 minutes long and should be three. 50 does address some things in the video. He says he doesn’t want to go through pushing his album back, he mentoned how many times Lil Wayne’s album was pushed back to build up anticipation. He comments on radio spins not matching album sales, and expecting T.O.S. to do better.

50 Expects To Sell A Milli In The First Week Of Sales For His Next Album
Lil Wayne comes in #1 last week with 156k sold while G-Unit debuts with 102k sold to be 4th on the charts. I know less than 200k is not what people were expecting and some people are trying to blame Interscope for this. I just think it was a lack of banging singles. “Beg For Mercy, sold 377k in the first week back in 2003. Source: BillBoard
Did Young Buck’s departure play a role in the low sales? Also will the sales of this G-Unit album mean 50’s solo projects won’t be selling as much?
Paul Catsandonis, lawyer for 50 Cent ex Shaniqua Tompkins, has disclosed that his client is suing the rapper for $50 million dollars in damages resulting from a fire than destroyed the home she was living in. In the fallout, Tompkins accused 50 of setting the fire himself to avoid having to honor an agreement made between them. She has since filed a restraining order.

50 has counter sued for defamation seeking 20 million. More money, more problems…
50 Cent thinks we could see another MC sell a million copies in the first week before 2008 is over: him! He plans on dropping his next solo LP, Before I Self-Destruct, within the next few months.
“I want to focus on the positive, and I feel I’m one of the more vocal people in hip-hop,” he added. “Even when it’s not about music, people pay attention to me, because I have something to offer. I’ll continue to create quality music at a pace they haven’t seen.”

T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight)
G-Unit/Interscope Records
3/5
G-Unit’s follow-through in delivering an album that caters to their core fan-base proves to be a move that both helps and hinders their latest project, Terminate On Sight. Aside from the club-friendly synths on the lead single “I Like the Way She Do It,” T.O.S. is virtually void of pop influence; instead, the album is driven by aggressive content and gritty production. But while the familiarity of T.O.S. means 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo are never out of place, it also ends up restricting the group’s ability to tread new ground or expand their sound. The cast of mostly unknown producers featured throughout the LP constantly hover just above mediocrity, with most of the numbers relying upon simplistic drum patterns or repetitive synth arrangements.
