Grow the f*** up man, I mean come on bruh. I’m not the first person to ever say something about molly, I guarantee I’m not. All I was speaking about is my own experience. When I say, “Popped A Molly I’m Sweating,” I said that because within that same month of making that song, that was my first time trying Molly and that’s what happen when I god damn took a Molly. That’s all, I’m not telling your kids to go out there and do no damn Molly. It’s all on you how you raise your kids, Trinidad James don’t raise your damn kids. That’s just how real my music is, I didn’t just tell you, I gave you the experience. I’m not the walking molly spokesperson. People made me hate molly, I don’t even want to look at it. If I see any time of white powder I just walk away.
- Trinidad James
While on DJ Kay Slay’s, “Streetsweeper Radio,” Trinidad James addressed criticism of his infamous line, “Popped a Molly, I’m Sweating, Woo.” Should rappers avoid mentioning, “Molly,” in their lyrics?
Streetsweeper Radio comes on 8pm on Shade 45 with co-host Joy Daily.

Can people PLEASE stop trying to put rappers/entertainers on some sort of pedestal/representative of the black community. Shit is getting retarded its just music people….
Thank. You.
Yup Yup! Agree
real shit these rappers r not supposed 2 raise ure kids dats da parents job
IM SO SICK OF RAPPERS TALKIN ABOUT MOLLY
THE DRUGS BEEN AROUND FOR MANY, MANY YEARS BUT NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN U POPPIN MOLLY’S ALL DAY? ESPECIALLY RAPPERS LIKE TI AND WAYNE TALKIN ABOUT POPPIN MOLLYS. THESE 40 YEAR OLD NIGGAS ARE ON PROBATION AND ARE GETTING REGULAR DRUG TESTS, YOU AINT POPPIN NOTHIN BUT A MULTIVITAMIN WHO ARE U TRYING TO FOOL
i think these artists, not just rappers, in general have to be aware that they have a BIG influence on the general teenage population in the world, because music is part of their everyday lives. forgetting what you are capable of as an artist is just ignorance, how can you not know that fame is given to you by people who listened to you and might even admire and praise you, and to going as far as imitating you. because you are their “role model”, parents should raise kids better, but in this era of technology, Facebook, computers nd iphones, who is safe from watching trendy music/ the popular of now? nobody. 6 year old kids i know have tablets which they use to watch gangnam style. society is ridiculous and disgusting nowadays
ghk
i think musicians not just rappers, should know that they have a BIG influence on teenagers, music is not just there to listen but most of are fans of it, teenagers , fans of all ages have gotten your message and are fans of your music for a reason. these kids look up to being like you, the experience of success, riches and bitches. the type of success you have showed them, if you say poppin molly, im sweating, and having fun, they will like all humans try it, out of curiosity and you are only encouraging them to do it by putting it on your music videos and songs. fame is a powerful tool that most of you don’t know how to use, and ignoring every reaction to your actions is just plain stupid. trinidad james cant defend himself against something that is obviously his fault. we are in the era of technology , computers, facebook, iphones, television. who can really escape from watching a trendy video, the popular? nobody. kids i know have tablets which only use them to watch gangnam style or lady gaga on youtube, parents also have a responsibility but who can have surveillance cameras over a child or teenager 24/7, while they are working and have little time to spend time with kids?, some parents don’t even spend time with their kids because they are working 2 jobs, maybe single mothers, every video put on the internet or tv will find a way to a kid’s mind, now what we can do is make positive videos or apply critical restriction to these types of content.

bullshit. i grew up listenin to DMX and Eminem. been bumpin dem niggas since elementary school. and not yet have i done anything simply because they said it in a song.
no music makes people do anything. at most, it influences the way you talk, act, look and carry yourself. if some dumbasses kid ends up bein a drug attic that simply comes down to poor parenting and decision making. nothing else.

“I do Molly because Trinidad James does it and that makes it cool.”
Parents need to just show a picture of Trinidad’s face and then ask their kids if that’s their role model.
Rappers might have a big influence on music culture and youth culture, but ppl are coming out the woodwork everytime saying “This artist makes my child a bad person.” How long has it been since college jocks started to bump NWA and suburban kids started listening to the Chronic? Every damn time we act like we cant educate our kids about these artists/celebs so obviously they start blindly following their ways (fictional or not). I mightve tried to start acting hard when 50 Cent first blew up, but they know if they bout that life or not
i agree with trinidad james. he simply mentioned an experience he had thats it. the song isnt about molly, its just a catchy part of a song. yes music influences teens, u know whoelse influences teens, their own families. kids always, and i mean always look up to big brother, so if big brother think that shit is wack, lil brother gonna think the same. he will grow and make his own decisions eventually, but kids look up to big brother, big sister, mom dad, uncle aunt. but if these ppl arent around or arent involved or too busy trying to make a living working two jobs then the kids will be influenced by the music.
this is racial in my opinion. white ppl rock and rap (eminem) talk all kinds of shit and nobody blames them for society ills
ahh…that old rappers are responsible for the youths choices adage again. dumbass impressionable people being followers of these entertainers smh…rock n roll promoted drugs and satanism but hip-hop and rappers are seen as impressionable and inappropriate for the youth. how about letting your kid listen to nas, kendrick lamar, big krit, instead of chief keef and trinidad james.
my favorite part of the song “popped molly im sweatin wooooo”
We can act like music doesn’t influenc you bt be real. Growing up listening to Dipset didn’t make me smoke weed bt it didn’t demonize it & made it acceptable. Even simpler than that. When u listen to Waka/Chief Keef/(insert crunk rapper) u get hype don’t you? When women listen to Maxwell they want to fuck right?
Rappers don’t have the power to change what kids do….. they have the power to change how kids think. Hip hop affects directly affects a kid’ personality and attitude about life. It’s productive when the rapper’s Tupac but it’s self destrucive when the person rapping is Lil wayne, French Montana or anyone one of these molly poppin skinny jean wearing freaks.
It’s not just music. Hiphop has the most significant influence in the black community. That’s a fact that can’t be denied. Look around. Look how these kids dress, talk, walk, style their hair etc. All that is a direct result of hiphop.
Wether we like it or not, these rappers are the ones raising these kids. If you think i’m wrong then ask your self why these kids are all walking around wearing skinny jeans and mohawks.
I think rappers can do or rap about whatever they want, they have that right. My only problem is that they need to atleast admit the fact that what they’re putting out there is destroying these kids’ lives. Molly is now a normal thing to do thanks to French Montana, Trinidad James and a few others. There’s kids out there who now see absolutely nothing wrong with doin it.
What about the hundreds of rappers that talk about sipping lean in every other verse ?
Who cares!!! R.I.P. Tim Dog Legendary!!!
Monkey see, monkey do

Babies doin’ DOPE, ’cause daddy did it right in FRONT of them.
EVERYBODY WANNA BLAME MUSIC… FOR THEY BAD KIDS…
