G.P
He was given 18 months probation for pointing a gun at an officer (which is already a VERY generous sentence for said offense), & was told clearly to stay away from firearms, legal or otherwise. He knowingly broke the probation by doing that gun range thing. He is punished with juvi time now. Aint shit unfair about that. He made all those choices himself, and you reap what you sow…but still i wouldn’t wish jail on anyone

Nigel, I couldn’t wait for you to post this, so I could touch on it.
To put into more articulate terms, what amgg said: A person would have to be sincerely ignorant to wish incarceration upon ANY individual. Being locked up is NOT funny at all (speaking from personal experience, being locked up in corrections).
I will say that the life you live precedes the outcomes that follow, good or bad. And I will also say that Chief Keef should recognize the opportunities that have been presented to him and make a personal effort to leave the previous life behind.
But the unfortunate and hardcore reality, that people tend to ignore, is that that man (kid, whatever you want to call him) is from a VERY next-level city where cats is into that life. Chi-Town is hardcore, and this is coming from a nigga from St. Louis (me). I got folks in the Chi, but my roots is StL and both have been hit by a former engineering and industrial complex that sought to increase profits by sending jobs overseas / outsourcing.
What else is there to do in those cities? What do people expect him to do? Be an academic, a scholar? Respect to Waka (first time I ever said that) for touching on this and stating exactly what I feel. Stop judging CK. He is what he is, and hopefully he can grow and become more. But, the people who are judging him have no right whatsoever to judge, let alone wish something like incarceration on him.
NO ONE has ANY idea about the prison industrial complex and what it HAS done and what it is STILL DOING to people. I’d wish death on a person before I wished them to be incarcerated. That is the lowest way to treat an individual. Fuck all this talk about gun control and fiscal cliffs. I hate that the prison industrial complex has become a for-profit that wants guys like CK to continue to perpetuate a certain lifestyle. Wardens, sitting at the prisons, rubbing their palms together, megalomaniacally, waiting for CK to be their next “guest”.
Grow up where he grew up. Have the guts to put your kids in that environment. Have the guts to walk through those neighborhoods. Have the guts to walk through those prisons, as a guest, and see what it is doing to people…. and come back and say, with sincere conviction in your heart, that a person “deserves” that.
I guess it’s just easier to tear people down, than it is to bring people up.
