But when someone has an appropriate time with an open audience, it still isn’t appreciated or accepted?…I get it; he’s your president and you will defend him…However, if he’s the president of the U.S., then he is the president of nearly the entire, considering how the US government is running foreign policy and the global economy….Someone of that stature and power should be critiqued to a substantial degree…..Questioning him doesn’t make you a Republican; it makes you a concerned and diligent citizen.

Obama is responsible for the deaths of thousand (probably millions) innocent lives around the globe because of these evil foreign policies.
i think his time would be better spent uplifting then airing grievances. i’m not saying obama is jesus and nobody needs to speak ill of him. if u dont want to vote for him, fine with me. if u disagree with his policies and direction, fine with me. but i dont want you to influence others to have a negative view of obama, when they had none to begin with.

Man. Cornel West need to go sit his ass down somewhere.
He talk about Martin Luther King having “high decency and dignity”. Nigga please. Yes MLK was instrumental to progess and I will never try to take that away from him. But he was a man, like any other man. He cheated on his wife, had sex with prostitutes and was known to plagiarize many of his writings including his doctoral dissertation at Boston University as well as many of his speeches INCLUDING his famous “I Have A Dream” speech. The best thing to happen to MLK’s legacy was his assassination. I have no doubt had he lived to see today, he would have been brought down a peg or two the same way Jesse Jackson and other civil rights leaders have been, and he would not have the same kind of reverence people have for him.
Also, the bible is the bible. I don’t know what the fuck the big deal is. That book was used to JUSTIFY slavery! That book promotes (among other things) slavery; incest; killing of children; sexism; etc. etc. My issue is that Pres. Obama would use such an oppressive book for his inauguration to begin with. But I understand it is tradition, but as far as I’m concerned he shouldn’t have used ANY bible, much less MLK’s.
