The new year will be off to a an epic start for music mogul Young Jeezy, who announced his new position as Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records this past summer. Jeezy announces his new venture, CTE World/Atlantic Records. The imprint is dedicated to the commitment of finding, developing and launching the careers of new talent on a worldwide platform.
When asked today about the split between himself and former CTE affiliate Freddie Gibbs, he replied, “Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures. I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.”
Jeezy says, “This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it. This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.”
Will CTE and MMG be able to get along under the same label? Atlantic should have the MMG & CTE offices next to each other and make it a reality show.

@abc87 we dont know how many album deals mmg had wit the previous label. well atleast i dont know so i cant say warner dropped mmg. rick ross never had plaques to begin with and warner still signed him. and now atlantic knows he dont have plaques and they still signed mmg again.

Jeezy does not have a universal eye in my opinion…he is very local in his approach and that might work in a – town but not in europe…look at kanyes success globally and you will see what i mean…jeezy failed with gibbs and to tell the truth gibbs was the strongest artist jeezy had outside of himself it will be very hard to find and break an artist on the caliber of gibbs for jeezy….
