Bow Wow Speaks On Rap Becoming Trendy & Rumors Of Him Being Broke

It’s trendy to point out how trendy rap is. In the 90s when rap was dominated by street cred no one had an issue with it. I agree that the mainstream is pretty watered down these days, but rather than strive to make a difference people would rather complain about it.

Just sayin
It’s funny how he talks about “trendy” rap when he’s the same dude who went and got a DJ Mustard beat and tried to emulate Tyga on his last single “we in the club”. Then when that flopped he aborted his album.
But, he’s right about hip-hop being trendy. From fun party to gangsta rap hip-hop as always been about trends. It’s just a matter of who’s the hot ticket at the moment. The sad part is that the consumer buys in so easily and accepts this kind of music. There’s no reason why Wayne (who has fallen into the trends) can sell an easy million in a week, but real artist like Nas can barely reach gold in a year. Consumers have no one but themselves to blame for this influx of garbage rap. The labels and artist are just giving them what they want. But let’s face it, if hip-hop went back to content and lyrical based who would be left? We’d lose 95% of the rap game right there (bow wow included).
And lastly, a nice watch doesn’t equate to wealth. Bow wow as a rapper and entertainer should know that better than anyone. Just mind your own and live your life. Stop caring about other people’s pockets.
