Jurors taught a big-talking hip-hop artist a lesson about broken promises yesterday when they ordered him to pay the $1 million reward he had offered for the return of his stolen laptop. Cheapskate performer and producer Ryan Leslie must fork over the Benjamins to auto-repair-shop owner Armin Augstein, who found the computer while walking his dog and turned it over to German cops in November 2010.
Full Story: NY Post
Ryan Leslie had his laptop stolen in Europe a while ago and offered a ridiculous million dollar reward for its’ return. I guess he thought he wouldn’t ever need to actually pay it, ouch. When I heard Ryan Leslie lost his laptop I wanted to go to Europe and pull a, “Taken.” I think the man deserves a reward but Ryan shouldn’t be forced to pay the full million. Of course Ryan Leslie will appeal.

he should absolutely have to pay that full million. industry ppl have a habit of saying shit just for the cameras and never ever having to live up to what they say. he said he would pay a mill cuz the material on the laptop will probably earn well over a few million dollars so fuck it.
if he aint wanna pay he shouldnt have said it. fuckin industry ppl always talking out they ass
Well if he did say he would offer a million just to get people that much more interested he should be prepared for paying that much, if he wasnt prepared to pay that much then he should have said so first.
I think the man deserves a reward but Ryan shouldn’t be forced to pay the full million.

2 Words: Honor & Accountability. There is no honor in saying something and not doing it. Or saying one thing and doing something else. Now, i don’t know about legalities in this matter, but as far as being a man goes, Ryan Leslie should own up to what he said.
I have to agree with the first 2 comments. People tend to say things that they don’t mean, but are buffed and hyped by friends and peer pressure, and these days, media pressure. I believe, at the time, he was extremely upset by losing his laptop and he was simply expressing his emotions verbally, when he should’ve spent some time trying to figure out the best possible way to trace steps, track down the laptop and retrieve it himself.
I love his music, and his whole sound but he made a verbal contract when put that out there on video that he would pay for the return of his property. He shouldn’t have put an amount on it though for all we know this guy stole it and turned it back in for the money. But you word should still be your word even in this day and age. As men everybody should believe in that.
Law dictates that if he said that he woud pay and put it out in public, by contract law, he must pay. It depends how good is lawyer is but I’m on the plaintiff’s side this time. It was just a fucking laptop. I’m sure he could recreate the sound. Dude was just trying to brag.
HAHAHAHAHAH! to quote @countyof kings ”fuckin industry ppl always talking out they ass”
