How about we stop telling people how to Live. If someone wants to live “average” then let them be. Unless they are hurting someone or relying on you, then how they live doesn’t concern you. Maybe “average” can equal happy to them. Nigel, please don’t think that because you’ve stepped your travelling game up that your accomplishing something in the broader spectrum.Life is not about travelling, Life is about Helping.
Did you even check the 11 points made? It is clearly telling to people to pursue their dreams and step outside the box. How can you possibly be against that? What is the, “broader spectrum,” of life mean to you? At the end of the day life is all about experiences, everything else will just be a blur. What have you accomplished since you are judging accomplishments?

At the end of the day if people need this to wake them up then they really have no ambition or motivation to do anything. Thats on them. This is the reason the average person is a hater. Hov said it best, “Let me live out my dreams until my heart gives out”
Im not trying to throw a shot at you , Nigel. Please forgive me. My point is “happiness” and “average” are terms that are defined by self. Every single person on this planet is different, don’t try to dictate what their life should be.

I don’t think this one was written for niggas at all (Kat Williams voice) . I feel like a lot more black people need to start trying to aim for “average”. The problem in the black community is everybody wants to be an athlete or entertainer and that’s not realistic. I think niggas question authority too much, niggas be getting an attitude with the boss then get mad when they get fired. If you are sitting at your desk for 40 hours and are only productive for 10 then you just a lazy nigga. Don’t be mad when they give that promotion to somebody else. I’m not saying don’t try to reach for your dreams but niggas got to get the basics down first. Most of the niggas I grew up with ain’t go to college, don’t got stable jobs, and probably won’t live until 60. So I’m thinking this comic strip is for white people.

“everbody wants to be an athlete or entertainer…” that is by design. from the Maryland Doctrine of Exclusion, Blacks were only to be competitive with Whites in sports and entertainment.
However, we need to get past this….and start a successful dry cleaners or something and move on up to the east side. LOL!
nigel i feel you on this one, these are the type of posts that are needed, but average is nowhere close to happiness, everyday i dream and imagine how am i gonna live my life, and everyday i feel like i havent done anything to pursue them, people dont understand that an average life is the destruction of man…think about it, what is average nowadays? having nice shoes, women, clothes, and trying to get money by any means possible…..religion is being lost, and many dreams of americans is going with it…..i appreciate this post to be honest with you, cause my life is average and whats to become of me is too unknown for even me….good look nigel

I’m in college because I have to be but the thing is I don’t have any dreams I would like to pursue. I guess its better than doing nothing.

Sorry for all these posts, but I’m pretty passionate about this subject. We have finally gotten to a point of self determination and we’ve got to decide where we collectively want to go with it.

Ok, I think the main reason we are average is because we have responsibilities like family and, we can’t find the perfect time to pursue our own dreams because the world moves fast with or without you and, we don’t want to be left behind.
Life is a delicate tightrope between what you WANT to do and what you HAVE to do. People go broke or become burdens to other people all for the sake of their dreams.
I’m definitely guilty of several of those things but I also support myself fully. You have to give in to the system a little bit if want to be self reliant. The catch is that’s when life happens, you get bills and babies along the way and all of a sudden you no longer feel motivated to learn new languages or travel. This is a cycle we must (and I believe my generation will) break out of. It’s. a give and take though.

Agreed. Every time I go outside our compound, I see the effects of war. Every vacation I take for the rest of my life will be on a beach getting served drinks.
