You can’t blame rap music for all of the violence in the city of Chicago. But when you listen and look at the Chicago rap scene, especially the rivalry between two rappers, Chief Keef and Lil Jojo, it’s easy to see why many people believe the music is inspiring violence. WGN’s Frank Holland explores the conflict between these young rappers and speaks to others in the city and the industry about what can be done about it.

i hate to say it but nothing can b done. tha yung generation is out of control and i blame tha media and social media well not all blame cuz lets face it most black areas hav violence nd is never ending. but wit social media its easy to diss somone and ervybdy can view it and u already knw they will respond esp local rapper beefs cuz they hav a local rap thug image they portray in their music. i call tha yung generation tha falln cuz they stand for nothin nd fall for anything
this is lies.. the 1st thing that can b done is realizing it has nothing to do with rap!! we have been placed in these almost poverty like situations so that we can fight over scraps and turf and then we began to rap and do poetry about it.. u cant rap about it if u dont know shit about it.. understand that the environments was hear b4 the music.. but every day we’re gaining on them and periodically they allow shit like this to happen along with prison numbers and where our people stand financially to make us think we’re not moving in the right direction… its all a mind fuck,our people are damn near last in statistics when it comes to drug offenses but we’re 1st when it comes to people incarcerated for drug offenses!! that tells u that we are targeted, then they release only the numbers that state blacks are the biggest population in prison.. its all mind games if we pay attention to their bullshit.. we have to grab our children and usher them along as we move up the ladder.. this whole election this year has nothin to do with politics, this election is race driven and everyone is involved because the winner will represent who has the biggest voice.. the minority and the poor or the good ol boys and the rich!! every generation thinks the next generation aint shit.. its never the case, and its not the case here.. but they want u 2 believe that, sorry 4 talking ur ear off, God put that on my heart lol
@realtalkfromarealnigga1
i can definetly respect that u make some great points
RealTalkFromARealNigga1
God bless you. Great truths. Thank you for that
Nothing. Let those animals kill each other, then hope the next generation wont be so stupid.
The problem is that this lost generation will raise the next. The only solution is to look out for you and yours and leave everything else to natural selection.
i dont live in the sates , but i remember in grade 6 -1999 we watched a doc about the chi town projects and how the the city planners f ed up big time when the designed the co ops. plus isnt ch town the birth place of black gangs ? it been plagued with violence since Abraham Lincoln times
what can be done about the violence everywhere? lol
fuck that kill’em all let god sort’em out-jadakiss

Put them two niggas in the Octagon and let them fight it out. They should bring back HS school boxing and make kids shoot the fair one whenever they got problems. They would get it out of their system in a controlled environment and maybe respect each other after the scrap.
This is why you should go to school till your 18, seriously removing the truancy officer has allowed a generation of kids to simply leave their options so limited by skipping or leaving school so early. Just watch these chief keef interviews and you can see it. This problem is way more complex than rap music and education it’s a combination of many factors too, in fact with more grandparents raising children then parents this generation is already doomed.
@RealTalkFromARealNigga1
Thats the biggest load of bullshit ever!! People need to drop the nigga attitude and the culture that surrounds it including music!! Niggas just want everything given to them without giving anything back they think they are owed the world. Time to stop complaining and get up and do something (not criminal) build foundations and build a community from the bottom. It wont be glamourous and will take a long time and hard work but nothing worth having comes easy. Get jobs in mcdonalds, cleaning floors or whatever pays to provide a stable base for your children to be educated from so they can learn the skills required to achieve great things, let them know and believe they can achieve what ever they put there mind to if they work hard for it. Learn that education is the key alot of adults are poorly educated and don’t understand its importance so cant pass this message onto there kids which results in a never ending spiral of uneducated, unskilled, unemployable people.
Eventually you will have black (not nigga) run businesses serving the black community. It may seam like an impossible task but all it takes is for every individual to be the best person they can be, not be greedy, think about others and the future and the legacy they leave behind and it will happen.
Bro i cant even be mad at this cause u saying the same thing im saying.. the exact same thang!! maybe u just skimmed over my shit.. my point was that our people are not as bad as they make us seem, we just have to strengthen our mentality because we have been left in subpar situations time and time again and makes u think shit is hopeless and u have to be a “nigga”(your words, not mine) to get out.. which is not the case, changing our mentality (droppin the nigga attitude in your words) and realizing we are further ahead than we think we are was the point of my whole statement.. so wtf are u even arguing about?
On the real the young generation are crack heads, and the artist are the hustlers. They don’t give ah fuck about younger generation, they got there money. Kanye is from chicago & he influencing that shit. And his moms talking about adding guns to his video to get out of the ghetto. If niggaz will open there eyes and see the ghetto is ah diamond. Rich people get rich off of our struggle, songs, reality of our environment. And we are just killing ourselves. Shit is really sad! We are our own slaves. Rap is no longer about skillz, it is about degrading minorities and showing that all we care about is sex, drugz, and pretending to have money. Niggaz need to realize fame is not worth selling your soul. Niggaz are PUSSYS! You can rally up to kill each other but can’t do shit to the main niggaz keeping us under!
This is America, there is no excuse that Chicago is so different than Beverly Hills. It is designed that way, who wants to share money, jobs, & nice neighborhoods? Especially when the prisons make so much profit. Education is the answer and removing those corrupt people in postitions of power. At birth everyone is equal, its all about knowing what is possible, bc anything is no matter where you are from. REVOLUTION!
