Missy Elliott says things are sounding the same and the real R&B is missing. She goes on to say, “it’s a lot of artists, it’s not a lot of superstars.” What do you think?

Agreed. BUT, every generation has his diamond artist, they’re just not considered as such. Ours are Kendrick, Cole, Franck Ocean. And they’re just as great as what you call these “back in the days” artists.

@illerdude..They iight,but they don’t hold a candle to artists from the 90′s.
No she is 100 percent right because all the singers and rappers are doing the same thing. There are few people making their own lane and doing their own thing. And when you do find somebody original they don’t get shine like they are supposed too. That dumbed down simple music is what people want these days. Too lazy to listen, break down the lyrics and try to interpret complex rhymes or metaphors. Our generation is the generation “fast food” because everything is about instant gratification. I can agree with her thoughts…except I’d say they’re more people trying to be superstars instead of focusing on being an artist. They doing it for the wrong reasons now, that goes for almost any genre. They’re all in it for the shine.
