I respect his opinion, Shyne earned his stripes in the game to say what he wants at this point. I’m sure he can give a fruck what a blogger got to say about it. K.Lamar’s album is okay in my opinion though probably grow on me some more. Compared to the straight garbage being released these days by mainstream artist it’s a work of Mozart. But I wouldn’t call it a classic at all.
Shyne is the prime example of someone out of touch with the times. Things will pass you by in a hurry when you’re on 23 hour lockdown in prison for damn near a decade.
On a side note, Shyne’s voice sounds a lot more clear and better than it used to.

Clearly he’s not familiar with Kendrick. I think he was expecting a “hood” album (The Chronic, Get Rich or Die Trying etc.), an Aftermath album. He wasn’t expecting a super lyrical, introspective look at everyday life in Compton. And honestly, I think he’s a little salty, mad at the love. He didn’t give the album any compliments. “He has potential” doesn’t mean shit.

Classic does not mean as good as Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die or College Dropout. A classic means: GREAT album, front to back – every track is good, it withstands the test of time and is accepted by almost everyone as a classic.
Maybe calling good kid m.A.A.d a classic is premature, but to call it trash… Now a days artists do not have concepts for their 1st albums; 12 tracks, catchy single and that’s it. Kendrick made a Sophomore album as his 1st. This album is for Music Lovers. If you’re still stuck with that mentality that “new niggas ain’t shit”, and clinging to your old stuff, I understand why you wouldn’t like this album (and anything new). But this album is great, every track is good. Only time will tell if it is a classic, but compared to recent freshman albums, this is a classic.
