Yo you niggas need to listen to the shit he raps about, its bunk. The beats could have been better too. I’ve been a huge fan of Kendrick and honestly, this album shoulda been a mixtape cuz it doesn’t represent Kendricks style at all. Theres a couple good songs but overall, thumbs down.

2nd very creative ( i didnt like it until the 2nd listen with the beat headphones on , got whole different feel). if u listen to it all the way thru each skit and song intertwine with the concept of the album (short film)

I dont think this album good kid maad city will top section 80 mixtape but its a great album great concept remember hes rapping about back in the day and im feelin this album because me being from L.A it brings back memories!! I was expecting more features tho like game, ice cube and even 50cent or ice-t would have been great or eminem uhh that would have up the album sales for sure

its not a classic……maybe 3.5 out of 5……maybe 4 for the whole concept, but there were too many fillers for the album to be 4 honestly……..i was pretty disappointed, im a big Kendrick fan, i was hoping for more songs like Cartoon and Cereal and what not…….still way better than anything else out right now

Haven’t listened to too much Kendrick so I can’t comment on classic or not. He definitely can spit and I like his lil style. The constant wearing of the hoodies annoy me for some reason but that’s just me. As far as Shyne, let the man vent at the rap game if he need to. His rap career is basically done. 10 bullets is a long time to be absent and he’s a stand up dude that’s bitter. I get it. But RLTK, Shyne’s two albums were monsters so he has a little career equity in my mind. But best of luck to Kendrick because he and J Cole are the only young dudes I fux wit.
Definately hard to compete with the other Aftermath Debut albums but Kendrick as an artist is much further already then f.e. Fif was at that time.. And if Shyne would produce 10 albums his best track wouldnt even come close to the lamest KL track so wtf?!

First off I love Kendricks music and style and for him doing him ..I’m tired of the trap music there’s to much of it, to many clones. Now the Album first listen I was like it’s good but I was expecting better.. Then I listened to it again and again the shit really is a dang story and grows on you.. It’s DOPE… 1 more week in my ear and it might be a classic!!! U have to listen beginning to end no skipping tracks!!
First things first the album is a classic hands down, but ill get back to that in a sec. Second, Shyne was only hot when Thats Gangsta was out which probably half the people on this board have no idea about, so let him get his rant on but lets call it for what it is, He wants attention. Now about the album, not only are the production and lyrics on point but the story that it takes you on is almost like pulp fiction meets Boyz in the Hood. He only has 3 features, Jay Rock (Money & Trees), Mc Eight (M.A.A.D City), Dr. Dre (compton) and Drake (Poetic Justice). Featurs only account for a third of the album the rest is all him unassisted. Which even the tracks that had features, he challenged the feature artist to up their bars, no feature artist had a wack verse and Kendrick never let off the gas either. Lets just all be honest here this is one of the greatest albums, RAP ALBUMS, put together in a long time, name me one artist out right now that can match it? And for those who think Meek is going to put out something better… Yall are tripping, it might sell but a day or two after yall are going to feel the same way about it as you did God Forgives and I Dont while the rest of us will still be playing Good Kid M.A.A.D City years down the line.

Ross nowadays is HOT TRASH!Moving along… Not only did KDot have only 4 features but all of the singles that dropped months b4 album came out were all bonus tracks… they didn’t even count toward the main story of the album. AMAZING! On the other hand, take Cruel Summer, we waited for ages for that joint, not bad, but out of 12 cuts 7 were on the streets 5-8 months before it came out so in reality we paid for 5 new songs, that is bad business.
