50 Cent speaks with V103 about his upcoming album, “Street King Immortal,” new single, “New Day,” and interview with Oprah. 50 Cent gives his thoughts on Chief Keef and Lupe Fiasco at 11:43.
I like the idea of Chief Keef. The same way I like the idea of Soulja Boy, cause I like the idea of someone having a hit at sixteen. He’s actually my son’s age. So without the success that I’ve had, my son could have potentially been Chief Keef. When I look at their situations and I go, ‘Wow,’ that’s what Hip-Hop culture is, it allows people to come from completely nothing, to make it.
The things that Lupe said about Chief Keef I don’t think he said that about him. I think he said it about the actual element, the environment. There’s no way you don’t personalize it when a person is saying you.

Man real talk…Niggas aint checkin 4 50 music like dat is cuz he’s not even a practical dude no more. If you knew better, you’ll do better. In stead of these older rappers schoolin the youth and growin musically they wanna perpetuate shit that leads our people (Black people) to destruction. Fuck all these rappers that cheer on violence in our communities. I wont buy they shit and wont support em. As for Cheif Keef…he’s young and thats what he came from so I dont blame him, but once again,,HE’s YOUNG!!! 50 was once there..Jay was once there T.I. was once there, Hell even David Banner was probly once there, but once u get to a certain period in life you fuckin GROW UP and share knowledge with the youth..50 dont do dat cuz he scared he wont be “street” no more. All Lupe said was that the culture that Cheif Keef represents scares him, because he’s scared and concered about our youth…Truth be told a one on one fight between Lupe and Chief Keef would more than likekey result in him being called Cheif No Teef!!! Do ya homework ona boi Lupe! Lastly Lupes opinion is equal to that of Cheif Keef and 50 so it does matter!!! -Ignorance is Bliss-
I think you took 50 totally out of context. I came into this afraid that he would be speaking ignorantly but actually I agree with everything that he says. He’s even right about Lupe in this one instance. Lupe was addressing the culture as a whole but he wasn’t considering the individual effect that his comments would have on Chief Keef or any of his supporters.
When you are young and ignorant, you need to be taught. Not criticized because as a youngster you react defensively, especially if you haven’t been taught to control emotions and be mature about issues in general. So when you have someone that is ignorant you have to deal with them specially.
HE NEVER SAID HE WAS CHEERING ON VIOLENCE, HE SAID HE LIKED THE STANDPOINT THAT HE WAS 16 AND HAS BECOME SUCCESSFUL
Also did you even listen to the second audio post where he called Chief Keef and told him that he may need to watch how he presents himself cause the police are looking at them tapes, no going against you, but I think you need to look more into stuff before saying that this is what he should do, cause he is. He also released a book for teens speaking out against bullying, which is a long way from the 50 Cent that everyone knows.
who da fuk asked this nicca opinion?? No1 cares what u got 2 say woodface
fuk him and lupe
I didn’t listen to the audio but I did read the quote. How can he say lupe opinion doesn’t matter 50 cent opinion is the most meaningless opinion in hiphop today. He gives flippant opinion on any and everything at any and every opportunity hoping to stir some contreversy not because he cares but because he wants to make a profit at whatever venture he’s doin at the moment. Lupe opinions are not for record sales it’s for a personal informative concern for life in general not profitable merchandise.
Nigel’s sensationalizing. That wasn’t the context he used it in. He was suggesting that if Lupe wanted to assist Keef as an individual then he was going about it the wrong way. Considering that he single Keef out, Keef wouldn’t understand and he would react defensively. 50 actually came off pretty conscious in the second interview. I was happily surprised.
@Q Did you even listen to the interview or did you just jump the gun and went in into your anti-50 rant? You were right when you said rappers like everyone else need to grow up but at this point we all know that majority of todays rap lyrics are fictional. Fair enough, you have to take responsibility of what you put in your music, hence 50 saying “he needs to watch himself, the police are possibly looking into his (chief keefs) music and videos”. It’s ok when your favourite rapper has an opinion on anything, but you call on people like 50 to grow up when the whole point of him reaching out to the little boy (who is the same age as 50′s son btw) is to give him a little guidance. I don’t understand why Lupe fans don’t come down from their high horse and understand that he won’t be able to relate to everybody on the same level, y’all attitude smack arrogance over nothing.
Boy are there some rabid haters on here today. I think Curtis was being very nice to the young boy. I respect what 50 says because he really came from the gutter and is doing a lot to benefit black people. 50 really goes to Africa and feeds the people, 50 really builds parks in Queens, 50 really donates and looks out for the community back in South Side. If you doubt what I’m saying all you have to do is go to google or youtube and do a search. That’s just what he does on camera, but Curtis does a lot in Queens quietly also. Lupe just be talking I haven’t seen him even handing out Turkeys on youtube during Thanksgiving. A lot of you guys are just filled with emotion and hatred when it comes to Curtis Jackson. It’s obvious to tell when you were praise fake William “Rick Ross” Roberts for portraying his fabricated dealer image then turn around and lambast 50 for being an actual dealer that is doing positive in the black community. Why aren’t you so called concious bloggers using some of that hate to call out JayZ, Baby, Diddy, etc to do more in the community? These guys have been in the game longer and should be doing more to give back. Ya’ll some hypocrites for real, and need to examine yourselves before you hate.

this dude you stupid right?the radio station that is interviewing asked for his opinion, who asked for yours?
its only a matter of time before 50 is buzzen again.
yo mama asked 4 mine bitch nicca
50 goes against the grain because he WANTS TO BE DIFFERENT!! He is perpetuating whats wrong with our young black men today!! No guidance!! Instead of telling Keif to stop rapping abt the violence and glorifying the gang life…He tells him to watch out for the cops because they are watching…!!! In other words keep being a thug and continue to glorify violence…just dont get caught…!!! As a grown man, 50 should be ashamed of himself for not guiding this young, influential black son in the right direction.
