Rumors of Jay Electronica and Stic ghost writing on Nas’, “Untitled,” album hit the net this week. There has yet to be confirmation, but would it being true change your view on Nas? Do you expect all rappers to make their own rhymes?

Check below for 97 seconds with Nas.
Update:

“Life Is Good,” again and Chad Johnson should hop on a, “Bye Baby,” remix.

As for as “untitled” i think people contribute giving him ideas to write about, but as far as them writing his rhymes down,NO.
There’s always been ghostwriters. We pick and choose who we accept it from. We all know about Dr. Dre hiring his new artists as Songwriters to build his relevance in those eras. An entire generation of us would feel slighted if Nas had a Ghostwriter at any point of his career. Snoop Dogg lost a lot of steam when he openly admitted to hiring ghostwriters, whether he was giving back to young artists or not. But the Dream tweet, keeping Jay-Z on a pedestal while being a “historian” with Nas? C’mon, even if Jay-Z wrote all his work, his credibility is extremely questionable. So are we saying that Memphis Bleek didn’t do any ghostwriting for Jay-Z. If Memphis wrote his own verse on “Coming of Age” on the Reasonable Doubt album, you mean to tell me he was just as good a lyricist as Jay-Z was at that time? I enjoy this type of thing.
MOST FEMALES HATE NAS BECAUSE HE EXPOSES THEIR DEVILISH WAYS AND HE DOESNT MAKE MUSIC FOR THEM FEMALES HELPED FUCK UP RAP
on 90% of the hip hop albums coming out when you look under the “writers” section it shows a few different names alongside the main artist.
Everybody gets help making songs. Go look at all the ghost writers on GFID or Tha Carter IV.
Just because the names are listed under writers doesn’t mean they wrote lyrics. If a rapper used a certain melody then whoever came up with the melody can get a writing credit.
As for the question asked, “Untitled” isn’t the only good track on the album so it wouldn’t matter to me. And as far as the ‘Nigger’ album, that wasn’t a stand out album for me anyways…Nas good in my book
People listen up, if Nas, Jay, Big, Em, and Pac had ghost writer’s
we would have been heard about it. Besides Nas, Jay, and Big
are known for writing for other nigga’s for years. This bitch who
posted this comment is a whore.
That dream hampton bitch is a joke man. and Im not even a Nas stan. How u praise Jigga in the same tweet then say Nas had ghostwriters, you can easily make a stronger case for Jayz having them at certain points.
The Ghost Writing thing is an issue that people dont fully understand, it can be as simple as give someone an idea, or writing a hook, if you look on GAME’s RED Album, Kendrick and JCole are listed as Writers, and Game stated that they both helped him write a few hooks and/or bridges for a song….it doesnt mean someone actually wrote their whole verse, how many times do you hear BIG Sean or Cudi say, they play something for Kanye, and he say, nah say this, or say it like that….Its part of the game cuz….
and @Deshair Jay wrote the whole Coming of Age song, he made Bleek memorize the verse!!!
i think a lot of greats used ghostwriter. ghostface with superb etc etc, i think its hard being inspired and fresh for 20 years maaane
No Hov has been a ghostwriter 2 a few artist over the years and about the credits having the names of the true writers first off most rappers don’t write they hooks and on top if a artist uses a sample from a song the artist of the song that was sampled will be included 2 the credits so you are always gonna see other names and as far as Nas he’s a great artist but Hov been tried 2 tell people he had ghostwriters but Hov on the other hand didn’t have a writer but took swag style and flows from other artist
this bitch needs to eat a dick. clearly jay elec and stic got their credits for production and whatever so on the untitled album. i will go as far as to say queens get the money had more elements of jay elec than nas. but to say both those cats WROTE MAJORITY of untitled is crazy. these social media bitches be runnin they mouth crazy.
also everyone gets help (ghostwriting) from people nas say it himself in the video. ideas, concepts, lines etc. so you think blueprint jay is the say jay as WTT?? obviously you can see Ye has a lot of influence on Jay now. same goes with Ye, ross, wayne, etc.
Im happy to know Nas didn’t write that trash ass album.
only a few comments in the post understand how to truly read the credits of a song.
with that being said if nas had ghost writers for lyrics to his raps, i would be supremely disappointed and he would drop several notches on my all time greatest emcees list.
he might fall off the list all together.
i’d rather know nas wrote a shitty line then had someone else write anything lyrical for him. not hooks or melodies, but actual lyrics like 50% of a track. i would be floored to learn that. i need confirmation tho 4real.
dre diddy they can have ghostwriters, but lyricist na man, never.
It’s funny when it comes down to others music genres, such as R&B, Country, Rock and etc… we (usually) ALWAYS accept the fact that didn’t and/or don’t wright the actual song that he or she sings.
However, when it comes to Rap/Hip-Hip music… people (in general) got a damn problem with those genre artists. Wow, go figure. But like that old azz cliche goes…”to each his or her own.” In other words, I guess we ALL feel different about certain things…that’s life I guess.
One more thing…
Whether it was ghost written or Nas wrote it himself… I’m not the only person that appreciates that verse that Nas spits on that new DJ Khaled record “Hip-Hop” with Scarface, ya’ dig. Hell, ghost written or not… even Scarface got hella excited when he heard Nas’ spittin’ that verse for the very first time (The Making Of DJ Khaled’s “Hip Hop” ft. Nas, DJ Premier & Scarface)
But let me stop right here…
BEFORE my post turns into a short novel. (I’m Just Sayin’).
Edit: *write
I realize I have mispelled word(s) in my post above…
(shit happens; I’m human)
This Hampton bitch just wants some media attention. Fcukin twitter warrior recklessly stating sOmw nonsense. You got your 15 min bitch case I aint never hear of you.
Co-sign 4EvaNdaGame. You right homie. And yeah that behind the scene video was better than any behind the scene bullshit these rappers put out.
Nas is one of the GOATs. If Nas just put out illmatic and quit the game, he’d still be one of the GOATs. This doesn’t change anything, I’m still bumping LIFE IS GOOD.
GTFOH with that twitter news.
And there goes you’r proof lol.
if nas dont write his rhymes i dont believe anything anymore. last straw. lol
nas is the ghostwriter for other rappers thats how good he is! nas is the god of hip hop
You niggas that were in doubt stfu. The supposed ghostwriter came out. And fcuk that Hampton bitch.
THIS IS SAD AND I KNOW THE TRUTH! JUST SAY JAY E WROTE THE INTRO FOR THE ALBUM FOR YOU SMH .NAS IS A BRAND AND THE BRAND HAVE TO KEEP RUN!
NO BULLSHIT ! WHEN I HEARD PUSTA T WROTE THAT THER FLU FOR YEEZY I FELT THE SAME WAY . JUST LIKE WHEN WANYE USE DIZZY VERSE ON BET AWARDS. A BRAND IS A BRAND IF I EVER MAKE IT THAT BIG IM A HAVE 20 GHOST W ! REAL SHIT
IF DRE ,50,WANYE,JAY,ROSS COULD DO IT SO CAN NAS! MONEY IS MONEY ! PRIDE KEEP YOU BROKE!
You praise Jay in one breath and dog Nas in the next. I use to respect the hell outta Dream but she just lost me. She can’t even prove what she saying. Both the alleged ghostwriters denied what she said was true. Dream…kill yoself.
the king
History on Dream Hampton and rappers having co-write (not ghostwriters).
Dream Hampton got her start writing about the freindship of Pac and Big. Even back then she came of groupish.. With tht said…
the history of colabo…
Ready 2 Die was in fact co-produce by 2pac.. 2 pac admitted he never write bigs ryhme but he gave ideas. Pac words Biggie stole from him his swagger and delivery. In true hip hop fan can hear Pac style on Everyday struggle. big had his own style and was bette lyrcist but admit pac did give him alot of ideas on his album. Pac stated he had to change MATW album up a bit to sound different.
Pac took Bad Azz song crazy for himself who bad azz glady gave to Pac.. But bad azz did not write pac verse.. Hooks yes. Pac and Nas been seen writing in the studio and bring in the studio a library of notebook of lyrics.
Jay Z was accused of steeling Young Chris candence and delivery. Young Chris stated they all bounce ideas off each other and stole bit and pieces from each other. jay z has spent Nas, big pac and Em lines in his raps.
Nas imo did have help from Jay E on QGT.. I thnk Nas is the master of taking your style and doing it better thn.. ie Kool G Rap and Rakim who Nas created his style. For the record Jay E jack The world is your and did brillant job. Blasphemy for Dream to defame Nas to defend Jay Z. Jay E help produce and co-write hooks and maybe a few bars. ALL RAPPERS DO THAT.Thts why the co-write credit,
Hip Hop is the one genere were generally the artist writes his owns song. not rock n roll, r n b and etc..
Game is famous for jumping on calbo and spit like his counter part…
Simply 2 much you tube of nas and jay z in the studio writting or creating their own rhymes… No Idea, Damien marley, Premier, Nore have all stated there fustration of watch nas write lyrics for hour spit and craziest verse they ever heard and nas saying he don’t like it and write the ryhme over several times.. Nas and Jay Z ARE GHOSTWRITERS.. Have they had help with a bar or 2. of coarse. Hooks.. Of coarse.. production and ideas of coarse..
Too Cormega fans.. yea cormega probalby gave nas the line “life a bitch, but god forgive the bitch tht divorce me.” But thts not ghostwriting. Co-write credit., Mega is no where near as skilled as Nas to have ghost written for him.
too Nas credit 10 albums in not one album sounds the same. I believe Nas, Jay Z, Pac, Wayne and Pac had alot help with lyrics..bar here. a bar there.. But mainly have had major contribution rappers who help compuse the music. Jay Electronica and Sticman are producer who also raps.. Unlike Dre, Puffy and a few other who have artist clearly written the 3 verses of 16 bars.. As far jay e rapper over queens get the money Dream.. He was recorded a verses for the album so of coarse you would hear those lost verses.. It’s called a COLABO.L. Dream keeping DREAMING.. BIT6HES ALWAYS KEEPING UP SHIT.
And it’s patethic, I don’t get the credit I deserve that’s why I hate doin interviews
But I don’t sweat it study long study wrong
My man Deion said Nas overthink the songs he writin
Nas – Back When
From Illmatic 2 Life is Good, Nas has the same flow that where certain bars don’t rhyme at the end of the measure-the rhymin word comes in sometimes on the 3rd or half way through the 3rd bar-no one in rap has that flow but Nas!!!! U can’t ghostwrite for a lyricist that has a mastered, unique flow-unless you mastered HIS style!!!! Since ’90-91 he’s had that. It’s all a set up,Nas is going through the 2Pac,Michael Jackson,Whitney Houston “Scandal” cycle-they’re (the powers that be) are trying to destroy him by trying to discredit his strong points-his lyricism(it’s called a “Smear campaign”)-do the knowledge!)
