This was likely taped before Aaliyah’s brother made his twitter statement, so it could be a foot in the mouth moment for Drake because at the time, he likely hadn’t reached out to anyone and only worked whatever record company who likely owns the masters to those songs.
Its likely going to end up being a decision for Drake as to whether he wants to save face and come off a ton of money that will go to her family/producers for speaking to soon, simply scrap the project because the business ($$$) side of the deal won’t be worth it, or say fuck it & put out the album with the record company against the wishes of those that are close to her.
If the record label owns the masters…can the family do anything to stop Drake from putting the album out? The only people that would be mad at him for it are the same guys that scream hip-hop is dead all day so it really wouldn’t hurt him..The family aswell I guess. But common you know you’d buy/steal/whatever the album and give it a listen.
@JustCallmeW..No i wouldn’t cause it wouldn’t been an official aaliyah album. If timbo/missy or even r.kelly is not producing the record,or people that work with her in the past, why would i would i wanna listen to it.Drake knows nothing about aaliyah, the nigga didn’t even reach out to the family to get their blessings, and her record company is foul for that,it’s not done right,so i wouldn’t want any parts of it.
I knew this was coming. The Aaliyah tatto on his back, the Aaliyah OVO poster, the enough said track was all pointing to this. He’s gonna put that album out no matter who approves of it.
