I don’t look at it as an L. MMG practically controlled the entire summer and Meek Mill’s album is right around the corner. 200k is the bar in today’s hip-hop (unless you have a fan base like Wayne, Drake, or Jay). Between MMG, touring, and a potential gold album that’s not much of a lose. I can name plenty of rappers that wish they were “losing” like this.
I think coming out with the Self Made 2 was a mistake Too close too soon. This could affect Meek as well. They should them albums out, if the goal was to hit certain numbers. And I think he released too many songs before the album.
But its a decent album…I think the numbers will continue to climb.
this album was weak compared to teflon don (musically), which could have been a classic minus few records. teflon don was rickys best, lyrically, content, features and production wise. god forgives is weak on all those categories. its a stall sound on this album. this album was for the birds and pop niggas that just jumped on hiphop realtalk.
ricky won in his own rights but took the L when it came to jeezy. the hood always respects real niggas, thats why Jeezy sold 233k without big promotions, huge group compilations, signings, radio rotations etc.

I had pre-ordered from Amazon. I am very impressed, he deserves even more. This album was incredible, Tracks like Shameless and Amsterdam, and the obvious ones like 16 bars, were just truly epic. Nas’s album was shit in my opinion, just because you like him personally, it does not mean his music is gonna be good. That New York city song was done before. Nas aint doing nothing new and talking about Kelis wont help him either.

Yes Ross took an “L” on the first week numbers but will he go GOLD in 4 or 5 weeks that’s another question. Jeezy went Gold in five weeks. I don’t think he’ll go GOLD in 4 to 5 weeks. When Ross goes GOLD it will be his second GOLD album. When Jeezy has 3 platinum and 1 GOLD album. I can’t see how Rick Ross can take shots at Jeezy like that.
I don’t think it was a L since Self Made 2 came out last month and is at 200K (we all know that compilation albums are a success if they reach gold and he’s nearly halfway there in one month), then he drops GFID and gets 215K first week, and next month he is going to be eating off of Meek Mill’s album.

Every time you’re listening to the radio its pretty much a guarantee you’re gonna here MMG (So Sophisticated, Bag of Money, Hold Me Back, 3 Kings, Touchin You, Amen, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg). With Meek Mill set to release soon and Wale and Gunplay after that, MMG is on a roll. Its cool if you don’t like them but don’t be foolish and discredit the work that they have put in.
