Lil Wayne announced on twitter that he will be dropping, “Dedication 4,” next month. I think it is important for Lil Wayne to make this mixtape official. He is coming off of arguably dropping his worst mixtape and album of his career, agree or disagree? Lil Wayne needs to go back to the days when Jay-Z stated, “I might send this to the mixtape Weezy.” What was your favorite Lil Wayne mixtape?

Lil Wayne does need to get it together but I doubt he sees it that way. He sold a million in the first week again and to him and his camp that’s a win despite the sorry ass content on the album. Wayne has lyrically regressed and fans are starting to take notice. He needs to make this mixtape a great one.
And then he drops, “My Homies Still,” continuing the downfall.
I agree Nigel
When Dedication 1&2 first drop, Wayne was the peak of his career. Anything lil wayne put out through 2005-2007 was straight fiya. I was one of the one’s saying Wayne is the best spitta in the game. I understand as a artist you want to venture outside the norm, but i also believe one has to be cautious of straying to far for from your roots. But i’m sad to say Wayne will never go back there.
RIP Mixtape Weezy
cant wait for dat….its gone be fiyah and niggs gone support em
His old stuff is much better not a big fan of the new wayne, but how many rappers can we say the exact same thing about, 50, luda, game, etc etc etc
do you think they fall off or we just get tired of them?
lil wayne giving us free music and this cock sucker nigel is complaining
Cool that it is free, just make sure it is good.
would you accept a lump of crap because it is free?
He’s too rich he does not have that hunger no more!! When Wayne was spitting taken over the game he had something to prove and was in his prime. Now he has the MONEY he’s good! He always had bread but he has stupid money now not as hungry when he was dropping father like son, those mixtape, killing every remix,carter1, carter 2. He even was spitting on 500 degreez!! That’s why when I say jay z is one of a kind you have to understand how long he’s been spitting and the classic albums he’s dropped! And the nigga is 40something lol when he was Wayne’s age now he dropped the blueprint Wayne talking bout skating and shit wearing girl paints and fur boots. Free max b!!!
Wayne was imo at his peak in Tha carter 2, Dedication 2 and suffix was my favorite mixtapes. Listen in Lilwayne renegade and Moment of clarity. I’m not really gonna say he really fell off bad until he came out of prison. Most artist get decline lyrically as they get older but in late 09 Wayne was great in No ceilings. He still very young so it’s disappointing at this point but it could be his work ethnic that makes him put out generic material like c4 and S4TW
^^^^^^ LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the suffix is weezy’s best mixtape
NIGEL DOES NOT CARE ABOUT LIL’ WAYNE.” *kanye voice* … lololol NIGEL HAS A REPUTAION FOR HATING ON WAYNE, TRUE bt ima wayne fan and his last mixtape and album WAS THE WEAKEST OF THE CATALOGUE AS FAR AS TRENDSETTING OR EVEN JUST FLAT OUT “HOT” and i havent played them since they dropped, i actually was just playing dedication “down and out” on repeat before i came in the crib and read this (coincidence) *SHRUGS* …. lets be honest WHAT CAN WAYNE SAY THAT WE HAVENT HEARD HIM SAY ALREADY IN A SONG………????? thats the problem, he has reinvented his self so many times since the last 15 YEARS that his target audience has outgrown him and seen him do and say it all………he should either get with producer and collab( LIKE JAYZ DID!!) or just pass if off to drake, nikki and i hate to say it..tyga (not really a fan bt they push enough to make him bigger)…..and retire.
I am hip hop i believe was his best mixtape.
Agree on droppin worst mixtape that shit was maaaaaaad wack, but um album hell naaa C4 was decent dope songs……………president carter, i like the view,im good, etc etc
Lil Wayne imo reached his peak in the years of late 2004 and 2005 (Carter2) Era. Although Carter 1 was good Carter was just Waynes’s most lyrical album. His best mixtapes were Dedication 2, Da Drought 3 and Suffix. He went in on Moment of Clarity Freestyle and Renegade although I believe the orginal were better. I liked Carter 3, some people might not of liked but that’s their opinion. Dedaction 3 was garbage. And Wayne came back strong in late 09 with No Ceilings which shit’s all over S4TW. It wasn’t really until he was released from prison he fell off. Idk really why he did. He’s still relatively young so maybe it was just work ethnic. Making a little too much music. Maybe was it was prison, his mind might not be the same once he left although he only did 8 months. At this point I don’t listen to his work much. That new single is garbage, and honestly I don’t think Dedication 4 will be any different. But I can’t judge yet.
Sorry 4 The Wait was trash, Carter 4 did great selling wise, weak album. His best work to me would be Carter 2 and Dedication 2. I’ve never respected Wayne’s music much anyway especially him trying to make a claim as best rapper when Jay stepped down, he didn’t have the courage to do it while he was in his prime.
Do you know why D1 and D2 were so good? Weezy was heavy on the syrup and skiing coke mountains at the time that’s why. He said it himself that he feels that being sober affected his creativity in bad way. Weezy, please smoke some crack shoot some dope sumtin’ a dude!!
Im not hating but this is how i feel “When Lil Wayne started wearing skater cloths and thinking he was skater I stop listening to his music”
Lmfao@Someguy… that “skiing coke mountains” line had me in fucking tears Lol
Wayne can’t smoke that grizzle since getting out that’s when is music became trash! And he has bread!!
Back in the day, Wayne use to grind to the max to get to the top. So many people didn’t start listening to him until Da Drought 3 came out then they went and did their homework and found out he been grinding since the Squad Up series and The Prefix/Suffix. Wayne was at his best when nobody paid him any mind at all. We should’ve ignored him and he would still be “grinding” and wouldn’t be looked at like a fool. And I think if he left those lines out about Trukfit and Skateboarding he could put together something decent, but let’s face it Dedication series WAS classic until the 3rd installment. Drama shouldn’t have co-signed that at all. He ruined the series already so the only thing this mixtape can do is ruin his career he better rap wisely.
I cringe whenever I hear he is gonna make a sequel to a classic series. He already ruined the Carter series, now this …
at least he is not touching the Drought.
Sober Lil Wayne will never be good.
yo idk wtf yall talkin bout d3 was garbage? that shit wasnt better then d2 but shits on anythin he put out recently
its all in the syrup 4 lil wayne imo and unless he starts sippin heavy again hes gonna b wack he sucked b4 it and he sucks after it n he kknows it
Sorry 4 The Wait was NOT Garbage….Carter 4 was NOT Wack Either i don’t understand how anybody can say it is. But i’ve been a Wayne fan since 08 but i became a huge fan so i listened to his past work. When Carter 2 Dropped the man WAS the best Rapper Alive, honestly the man doesn’t even have to rap anymore but now since he is going back to legendary series of mixtapes he HAS to deliver
The Drought 3
I don’t give faggots with ghost writers no respect wayne stands 4 nothing thats y his lame ass fans fall 4 anything fuck wayne
Dedication 2
when will people relies weezy is not hungry he has nothing to prove to anyone anymore he’s done exactly what meek mill is doing now with carter 1 till 3 and mixtapes within that era done all the cars clothes jewelry talked about the hood and life many times, girls, drugs, money why does he still need to rap about it, its 2012 he lives in Miami not New Orleans he aint broke nigga in forbes just making hits yall need to chill
IM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW HE SOLD 1MILLION IN HIS FIRST WEEK OFF THAT TERRIBLE ALBUM WITH NO HIT SINGLE OR RADIO BUZZ…… SOMETHINGS WRONG THERE….
…umm…you guy’s forgot about “NO CEILINGS”, that was one of his best in recent years..
I can’t understand how you people talk about wayne like he has even been good. I mean if you seriously thought he was the best in the game when he released those dedication mixtapes then you cant know alot about rap. I mean shit the only verses that has been somewhat good from him are even ghostwritten. Sometimes I just loose my hope for hiphop, the artists gets dumber and dumber and the fans seems to get dumber to because they pay attention to them instead of paying attention to rappers that are lyrical and just dont make silly rhymes with no meaning like this faggot lil wayne or rick ross & the rest of ymcmb/mmg.
Wayne definitely fell off a bit from his mixtape days imo and im talkin S4TW and even C4 wasn’t what I expected from him. Truthfully it happens tho if u look at the longevity of his career so far the man has mostly been successful. I’d say dedication 2 was the best mixtape he did and Carter 2 was his best album. I think dedication 4 will be dope if he gets the right features that’ll make him step his bars up and have the right producers work on it. I guess we’ll see tho..this will determine if he still got it..
@Oneandonly PROVE it, If your talking about the whole Gillie da kid shit, then na it’s been dismissed along time ago. Here’s the Interview with Gillie years ago addressing the situation. XXL
A: “It’s pretty noticeable how differently Wayne raps today compared to how he rapped when he first came out in the ’90s. What do you think brought about the change?”
Q: “You don’t go from being “Wobbly, wobbly, wobbly/Drop it like its hot”…You don’t go from being mediocre to being exceptional. You don’t go from rapping a certain way all your life and then this: “For fuckin’ with the bol!” I’m from Philly and I know Philly is the originator of that word “bol” and “nahmean.” New York is known for what it’s known for: “son” and “word to mother.” They got a bunch of slangs they known for. New Orleans was “whoadie.” When I got around there, I changed the whole direction of Cash Money. Not just the ghostwriting part, I’m talking about everything. When I got around there, they was wearing FUBU jerseys and soft-toed Reeboks. I come around there with the Polo button-up shirts and the Prada sneaks. Now everything is Prada, it’s Roberto Cavalli this, Roberto Cavalli that. I’m just being all the way real with you. I changed the whole face of Cash Money. They was always running late. At one time they had an attitude with me because I wasn’t wearing them Reeboks. That was what they was known for down there, so they wanted Cash Money artists to dress like that. If you didn’t dress like them they felt as though you was different.”
Q: “So you’re saying you’re responsible for Wayne’s dramatic change in rapping style. Do you think there could have been other factors aside from your influence?”
A: “As far as me tutoring this young cat, he really just sat down and soaked up game. Do you know how many people have been asking me this for three years and I never ever exposed shorty because we were cool. I used to fly him in to my parties. Even after I heard his diss record, I still didn’t expose him. I reached out to him. I called him first ’cause I got love for you. So you went as far as to diss me in a record. I want to know why. What that was about? I wanted to give him a chance to say, “You know what dawg? I was trippin’. I’m sorry,” and we could just let it be. I called him twice, three times, he never gets back at me. So that’s when I felt like, Fuck you then. I don’t owe you nothing but I thought we was cool.”
Q: “The diss track directed at you that you’re referring to is “Problem Solver” off of the Like”
A: “Father, Like Son mixtape?
Yeah, that old bullshit.”
Q: “What do you think prompted that?”
A: “I think what prompted it was everybody approaching him. Is it true? He [must have been] saying, “Fuck it, he not around Cash Money no more. I’m platinum. I’m bigger than him. Fuck it, I’ma go at him.” He feel like he got something to prove, but you don’t got nothing to prove to nobody, shorty. Just keep doing you ’cause this could be your downfall. You know you can’t fuck with me. You don’t even have enough charisma. You a clone. I look at you on the videos and you be trying to emulate everything I do in the studio. The faces, the look, the glasses. Like, did you ever know Lil’ Wayne to wear glasses? I come around there with the Christan Dior frames and the Prada frames and the Chanel frames. But it was never seen because I was always in the background. But I had $150,000 up front from Cash Money. I was cool, I had some money. I put out six appetizer mixtapes on the streets, and when I get the correct response from Philly, I said, “I’ma holla at y’all. Y’all in breach of contract.” Stunna offered me $250,000 to stay around. I mean, I was writing all of Stunna’s shit. It was a lot coaching, writing, laying a verse first.”
Q: “Do you remember a specific verse you wrote for Baby?”
A: “Perfect example: “Brrrrrrrr! What happened to that boy.” Clipse was in the studio when we wrote it, they seen that I wrote it. They seen Stunna in the booth like, “Gillie, how you say that?” I would rap a verse and he might take a word out to make it sound New Orleans, but it’s my pen. And I been around New Orleans so much that I know what they talk about. And I know Stunna he can’t say too many big words, so you got to make it as simple as possible”
Q: “Were you straight writing verses for Wayne, or was it more of a coaching thing?”
A: “No, Wayne had good breath control, so it was really more of a study thing.”

yo honestly, ever since he stopped smoking weed and sippin lean…..his musics been goin downhill……haha
Wayne did fall off a little bit…he needs to drop the ‘dingy’ swag, he always looks dirty and needs to just focus on the bars. He needs a better creative team because idk how nobody around him has stepped up to the plate yet and told him some of his lines are wack. Idk thats how rap goes.
