What are your thoughts on this situation? Justin Combs earned it so I say he deserves it. Another discussion about this issue is below.
“There’s a misconception out there that somehow athletic scholarships would take away money from low-income students who need need-based aid,” school spokesman Ricardo Vazquez said. “That’s not the case. Athletic scholarships are awarded strictly on the basis of athletic and academic ability.”

Regardless if he “deserves” the scholarship or not, his father spends 54k on Ciroc parties. Give the scholarship to somebody who not only deserves it but needs it. Wtf
Of course he deserves something that he earned. No one complains when some of these rich (not famous) kids get scholarships. However, being in the financial situation that he is, he should donate or give the scholarship to someone less fortunate. Too many young people who are looking to better themselves are not afforded these opportunites, unfortunately.
his dad has nothing to do with this ;he earned it not his father. how cares if his dad has 14 or 1 billion.once he 18 his dad has zero legal obligation to him.
He worked hard for it, Ha should have it.
His Dad is rich not him. His brother Quincy, intentionally did his own thing with music and he is trying to carve his OWN LANE in football. & somebody plz acknowledge that being on scholarship with sports nearly guarantees you a starting or back-up position. Not just about money
Like he’s the first kid with a millionaire as father to get a scholarship.. Did they all have to return the money or did they give it to someone else?
he should keep it. i’m sure there are white kids who have rich fathers who get scholarships and because their not famous nobody makes a fuss over it.
this is a scholar ship not financial aid. if he tried to get that then i would be callin bullshit on all them but this is different.
the kid damn near had a 4.0 gpa, he earned that shit
Ofcourse he should. His good, he deserves like everyone else. Thats equality, talent equals reward. My Dad has money he didnt invest in me, nor does he give a shit. You never know how things are in the actual family. So please dont judge him based on who made him, we cant choose our family
It is the responsibility of the parents to pay to educate their children; not the school and not the state. But, if a talented kid has parents who cannnot afford it, and the college feels like he will be a successful student, then by all means. Not only do I think that ALL millionaires kids should pay their own way, I don’t think scholarships should be given to anyone who has not academically earned it. To be real, athletic scholarships came about so that colleges could bring in fiinancially disadvantaged male students who had skills in sports but not the academic credentials to get a regular scholarship. That is why they can’t use any public funds for athletic scholarships. They are based on talent; not brains.
