I say she is, but if she’s not today, within time she will be. No female ever will be able to sell more records than her, have more singles than her, have more number one singles than her, have more awards—no more nothing. She had the most singles by a female last year. Her accomplishments are gonna speak for themselves.

They’re doing what they’re doing too. But I think Khaled and Rozay are doing a little more. They’re a little more active with their acts. I ain’t talking about them as a brand, but their acts. the only artist ross has put out is wale! lmao! birdman needs to lay off the drugs. cudi and big sean are doing great and good music revived common’s career coming off electric circus (which still sold a respectable quarter million records, just not as well as “like water for chocolate”). when ross can sign a rapper ten years deep on the scene like common and bring him back to gold sales AND break two new rappers like cudi and big sean, then ross can talk like he’s on ye’s level.

MMG is the bizness, but there not on Kanye’s level.
This will likely be a continuing theme with hip hop. You’ve got the Jays and Kanyes who transcend into mainstream, do big numbers, and move into more of a commercial success. But then you’ve got MMG that’s burning up the streets. Birdman was speaking to the fact that the streets is checking for Wale and Meek Mill more than they are for Big Sean and Cudi.

So happy you guys are musically educated because most people would just eat this up in the streets. Kid cudi got a following no one on MMG or YMCMB got. YMCMB and MMG, both are on a magnificent run. Glad to see Black Men making it Especially in a bad economy. They have definitely out shined any label/group/brand in the last year.Wish them continued success. Khaled rides coat tails, so no shine.
With that said, I argue that they both have some suspect talent in their respective groups. Young Money has three strong (Drake, Wayne, Nicki,) after that the talent pool takes a big dip. All three are Half & Half artist, (R&B/Rapper). MMG has only two legit artist, Rick Ross, Wale. Meek is average.
G.O.O.D Music is the much superior team when it comes to talent, Lyrically and production.
If the G.O.O.D music CD does see the light. We will see a shift in the game.
The question about Nicki is ridiculous! Lauryn to be compared to/with Nicki is an, insult. The only comparison is that they both have sing on their records. Nicki sang Pop tunes, L Boogie sang R&B. L Boogie is a pure entertainer without gimmick. True Hip Hop fan would know and understand that.
L Boogie sat in the basements with the Fugees and crafted her art. Brought it to the world without all the hype and booty pads. Nicki is all ass no substance. Marketing has been her push to the top.

Co-sign Geesworld on the marketing comment. With a big enough budget and the right marketing scheme, a company can any decent product into a commercial success. That goes for anything from music to selling t-shirts to or any widget. We must protect our music, our soul. Two points i’d like to make.
Go back and listen to Andre 3000 on “Hollywood Divorce”. Things always start off in our community. Our creations. Then once Hollywood and mainstream get it, they make it into something else.
Jay-Z, on his “Can’t Knock the Hustle”, said something so real and it went waayyy over everyone’s head. He said “all we got is sports and entertainment, until we even”, which was taken damn near verbatim from the The Mayland Doctrine of Exclusion of 1638 that forbade Blacks from being economically equal.
