“I think Jay-Z has made himself a face of [the] Wall Street that Occupiers are protesting against,” said Edwards. ” Maybe Jay-Z is striving to be in the one percent? Which is why I chose the composition of a totem pole because I thought it would resemble the number one. Rap stars who turn ‘Scrooge’ have to suffer some damage to their street credibility.”
- Daniel Edwards
Does Jay-Z deserve this after releasing, “Occupy All Streets,” shirts.

this is…no.
right a big no wasting all that time to shrine hov in a sculpture LOL dummy
Jay is my favorite rapper, but he exploited the movement instead of supporting it. Unlike Russel Simmons, who was vocally behind the movement from day one. Use your voice if you really want to change the economic injustice in this country. Don’t sell a cheap T-shirt to make money. There are bigger fishes in the pond for this guy to go after though.
sooooo does he plan on selling these sculptures??? if so, that defeats the purpose.
Some of these people are not genuine. Jay Z is NOT their enemy. I wonder if the majority of these folks had half the bread Jay has, would they be up in arms about some damn tee shirts. Jay Z by no means has the power to change any of their circumstances nor is he the reason why they are in their circumstances or why the country is in the shape it is. I will agree that having the proceeds from the tee shirts go to the cause would be great, but he by no means is under any obligation to do so. People always want to attack dude on his philanthropy, but fail to do the research. He does plenty. It just seems like the people that are up in arms have a hate towards anybody making money. That is NOT what the Occupy movement should be about. It should embrace the entrepreneurial spirit, not hate on it nobody who it comes from.
It ain’t about people hating on him, it’s about people like him Profiting off others pain. He look for away to look don’t on people and make a dollar at the same time. As far as him donating money to different foundation, no one benefits from any of that the same people continue to donate money back and forth to each other to make it look good plus it’s a tax right off. Show me one person that benefited from one of theses so called foundation.
Jay just attempted to cash in on a movement. And where do the proceeds go? Straight to his pockets. End of story.
Statue is dope, if jay was behind the movement and wanted to occupy all streets for real them shirts shoulda been free bees.

Approved lmao we are all fans of Jay’s music but that shouldn’t make us blind to the fact he tried a business move that these guys didn’t appreciate. Again he wasn’t wrong for tryin to make money, thats what business people do but let’s not get up here and defend Jay when someone voices how they feel about what he did.
As soon as he got criticized for not donating or helping out the movement, they removed the shirts for sale rather than continue selling them and donate proceeds. Jay put himself in this position; the OWS folks didn’t do it to him
