Even though Pac wasnt really beefin with anyone till Suge came and got him, he was still makin hard songs, check a couple of records from albums before he was signed to death row…. he was basically saying the same shit, he just wasnt directing it to a certain person…. Suge didn’t make Pac go against all these people, Pac chose to on his own. You’ll notice no one else on Death Row was calling out names like Pac, that was Pac’s own choice. And ain’t nobody kill Pac over no rapper, that was street beef. You sound ridiculous. Nobody is killing somebody over a rap. If that were the case, Chino XL would have been dead 10 years ago.
As for why Pac went at so many East Coast rappers, in case y’all forgot, a lot of East Coast rappers were taking shots too…I remember Q-Tip saying “All you West Coast haters, I’ma bust yo’ s**t” (even though that was apparently aimed at Abstract Tribe Unique, it was wayyyy too general). I had a freestyle on tape where Large Professor said something against the West Coast, I forgot exactly what. Prodigy had an unreleased verse off LA, LA where he went at the West hard. People thought part of the “Ego Tripping” video was going at the West, hence why Pac went at them (De La also inexplicably dissed Naughty at the beginning of Buhloone Mindstate, for which Treach beat up Pos…Pac and Treach were close friends till Pac’s death, so you know how that goes).
But notice that there were loads of East Coast rappers Pac *didn’t* go at, in fact Redman and Meth were on All Eyez on Me. How many West Coast rappers were ever on a Biggie album? On a Nas album back then? Mobb? You guessed it, zero. So, who’s hating on whose coast again?
LOL @ some of these comments. 1st of all this track was made back in 95-96. At that time Pac had beef with all of the people he mentioned. I believe had Pac & biggie lived the beef would have been squished by now. Hell we might have had a best of both worlds 2 with Pac & biggie produced by Dre. Anyone who thinks Pac was just about beef truly didn’t listen to Pac’s music. Also for those trying to dis death row music. There are record companies out there who wish they had half the track record the row had in it short time of existance. Like it or not Death row kept Hip hop alive while the NYC was down.
