Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa have potential to stay in the game and have a loyal fanbase.
If Max b was’nt tied up to a label situation and facing life improsonment than he’d be on the spotlight to but no label will invest in him with those 2 things holding him back.
But this thing called a “new cycle” does not exist every year a new artist comes out and most dont last and thats exactly whats going to keep happening. You dont realize a new cycle till years later when the once new can still last.
But man these artist that are coming out these day straight up suck. Its safe to say no one knows how to make good music anymore. They’re trying too hard, good music should be simple.

Wiz Khalifa is all over the internet and MTV. He makes good songs which seem to never disappoint. His mixtapes are fire. He basically has the entire college aged crowd and backpackers on lock. And he did all of that by himself, no major. Now he has the machine behind him in Atlantic records his success is going up. His next single will be a chart topper.
Nicki Minaj has that young money machine behind her as well as the hopes of all young women. They have not had a female rapper to really represent them in a major way since Missy Elliot and Lil Kim.

Drake has a formula that he knows works, from production, to harmonizing, to flow every detail is well thought.
These new artist come out and dont respect every detail. They have no real talent. The days when you can love something based off rhymes alone or concept is gone. With time comes standard and no one is really incorporating any of it.
Music isn’t hard theirs simple fundamentals to it but when it comes to the hip hop genre its just not looking right.

Wale will be the underground guy who will make good music but never sell
J. Cole will be on some Nas shit as in a lyrical guy who will sell a little but will always be considered a amazing lyricist with maybe a few attempts at mainstream records
Kid Cudi and Wiz have built a pretty solid niche market for the work they do that will continue to support them and allow them to eat
And Drake will more than likely have the most lasting sucess musically out of all of them as far as hit records and sales but people will always yearn for his Comeback Season or So Far Gone days.
It’s not all about sales people. It’s about the fact that these artist are the new ones that are really starting to make a mark for themselves right now (along with the omitted Big KRIT and Currency.)
