There’s such a horrible disconnect between black women and black men.. And I’m not even talking about in relationships.. I’m saying just in everyday interaction.. On the street you see brothas not holding the door open for black women, and you see black women rolling their eyes if a brotha even says good morning to them. You see blacks constantly bickering in the workplace, often times to the amusement of whites. It’s sad that we can’t even be nice to one another nowadays.. Too many brothas quick to diss the hell out of a sista, and too many sistas quick to diss brothas..
Maybe it’s like that with other races also, but as a brotha I don’t find it comforting that we can’t get along with each other on at least a friendly basis, particularly since it’s a fact that the remainder of society hates us both, and would rather do away with us if they could. Since they can’t do that, they find ways to separate us… the next best thing.

Just like black women had to endure rape and torture at the hands of white men, black men had to endure watching it happen, and not being able to do anything about it.
