Those are decent numbers considering how much hype went into the project. Anything less would have been a disappointment.

I projected those numbers as well – around gold first week. Album is actually dope. I know a bunch of people are going to come in here and hate and say this and that and J.Cole this lol… Album was very COMPLETE and has some drop tracks on it… 8.5/10 easy! Kudos to Drake.

I thought the album would sell around 600k – 750k. I liked the fact that he dared to be different and in turn made a great body of work. I guess what Drake said is true…Thank Me Later b/c i do believe the album is a classic.
I think Em will sell more though, not because he has a bigger buzz, but because there are people behind the scenes helping his project. Did you see how “Not Afraid” premiered at #1 on iTunes and it was on the radio constantly, and was off within a week or 2 (because people were not buying it like that). Now his new single’s out and it gets radio play like crazy and it’s Top 5 on iTunes. Soon it’ll be off. He’ll sell 700k+ first week, and then he’ll fade to black.
Also, he has fans that blindly buy his music, so that helps.

Call me a hater but i like TML the only 3 songs im not feeling is Fancy which really shouldn’t even be on the album, thank me now i couldn’t catch the vibe to it, and Shut It Down which was just ehhhh it was missing something. My most favorite songs are Show me a good time which should of been a single, the second favorite is The Resistance, than “Light Up,Unforgettable and the rest of the songs. Other than that the album is nice, it’s very calm and nice to chill to. My predictions were around 500k, for a rookie this is not bad numbers, take a look at wale,b.o.b, cudi for week numbers, but what the number have to do with anything when it comes to judging the quality of the music? forget the numbers they are for the artists and curious haters. With that said i like the album can’t hate, could it been better? Sure.

i think this is pretty good considering the times were in, sales of music have dropped so u cant really compare his sales to 50 because times have changed. Also if you can tell a true story and how you feel on an album and at the same time make good music out of it, i think this debut is successful
