Zeta Tau Alpha: Epsilon (All White Team) won the night of the show and later officials claimed there was a scoring discrepancy and awarded two 1st place prizes(I don’t agree with that). I think it was due to pressure from people being mad that an all white team won, you can judge for yourself. Check below for more sorority performances and the winning fraternity team.

Vigorous never said there was anything wrong with stepping or dancing. He just pointed out that the trends in our community are rapidly becoming gayer, and he’s right. You got men wearing skinny jeans in bright ass colors; that was and still is a gay trend. Dances are starting to look gayer as well. Just an observation.

It’s not that the Black community is becoming gayer. It mainly the fact that Black culture is losing its identity to what mainstream America like and buys. Who wears skinny jeans and Vans? Young white people. Who are the main consumers/supporters of Black media? Young white people. You can’t argue that we support our own when we’re the first to tear them down, especially with “gay talk.” If you wanna call out “gayness”, sagging pants are the epitome of “going gay.” “Gay” cannot be the excuse for everything; 9 times out of 10 it’s all about money.

My issue with this is that the women of Zeta Tau Alpha deserved to win and were only told there would be a “co-winner” when the other teams started crying about it. I love the AKA’s but if you taught them how to step then you should definitely step your game up and do something unique in your shows. I, for one, am tired of seeing the same routines and expecting that someone (of any color) is not going to come in with originality.
^ I was at the show and both teams did something original. One of the ZTAs did a step while the others were holding her up on top of a platform, and the AKAs did a step where each one had a leg on the person next to thems back.
The crowd cheered loud as hell for them white girls. And then they had the nerve to boo when they won. And what’s worse is they’re masking their distaste with a white team winning by attacking everything else around the show to discredit it. There was some shady stuff goin on but lets keep it 100 about what the real issue is.

we had a step competition at my school and the ZTA’s won over all the black sorority’s. Step your shit up and quit bitching. Give the ZTA’s respect. They went into a black person’s dance competition, everyone there was black except them, and they owned it. Plain and simple
