why do you allow some if not most interviewers to take the focus off your album to discuss other artists? you talk more about other artists more than you do about your actual project. Those that truely listen to hip hop know and understand you do it to bring attention to your album. Your album (if its decent) should speak for itself. a lot of criticism about rappers over time is that they sell out and that the stuff they preach in their songs is no longer applicable to their lifestyles. would you recommend someone like drake record 4 or 5 albums before his solo album is released so that his hunger is still evident in his music before he reaches worldwide fame and he can release those albums he recorded now over time in the future. obviously music evolves but if you put out get rich or die tryin’ that album would still be your greatest even though its been almost a decade since its release

It seems like the key to grow in the business is to become a brand, and not only by staying at the simple “artist status”. For example, there’s a “brand Jay-Z” with Live Nation, and no more simple Jay-Z artist, personnality. How would you manage to keep your artistic credibility not outshined by the “50 cent brand” that you’re creating with the fragrance, and the book ?
I also noticed that you had never switched to a purely mainstream sound. It’s seems like you stayed loyal to those raw and gritty New York Bangers since almost 10 years. It’s admirable, but don’t you think that can affect your sells ?
