i’m not here to hate on drake. i think he is better than 50, but he hasn’t earned the enormous hype he’s gotten. the hype is from the record labels, even before he had a deal, pushing him to be a star in order to drive sales.

whats funny is even with all the hype, his hype still doesn’t match 50s. the reason is dr dre. sorry drake, until you get eminem and dr dre in your corner, you won’t ever match 50’s hype. you need tracks produced by the doctor to compete at that level.

50’s buzz was crazy but he didnt have 8 songs in rotation before his album dropped thats just crazy. just facts no emotion. the question has to do with buzz what actually happens when his album drops is irrelevant and not comparable. Back then people were going diamond thats unheard of now. Andre is clearly mashing alot of of different things together. As far as whether or not you can believe his music sounds silly what does he say that unbelievable. He’s not a gangsta rapper he doesnt talk about guns shooting people up or sell drugs. The reoccuring themes are his music are money his relationships with women (from his mother to hoes) as far and the price of fame and exposure as well getting caught up in certain lifestyles his music is quite believable cause hes not talking anything about being gangsta selling drugs or trapping so i dont see in any way you can say his music is not believeable. His legend with getting shot and street buzz with the mixtapes was unheard of and bigger than life. but things that Drakes done are just as unheard and just a short period time no one has ever had 3 songs from a mixtape in radio rotation ever ever. Even when the Drought was killin the streets and 50 mixtapes were killin the streets the songs werent on the radio in heavy rotation. 50 didnt perform on vma’s with no deal 8 songs 5 videos before his album dropped 50 aint have that either so u may not like the dude but the facts are still the facts he has buzz that is unprencented by any other artist we have ever seen

The fact that y’all niggas is comparin drakes buzz right now (pre album/pre first single) to 50’s buzz after wanksta and GRODT sellin over 800k in its first week shows u how big drakes buzz is. If drake got this kinda buzz now just think of how big it’ll be when he starts promoting his actual album. And all yall niggas are lame who say drakes success was manufactured. Drakes success was completely organic and based off of the music. Fans from the beginning know becuase we saw it happen from start to finish. Yall niggas only started to catch on when shit got big so that’s why it seems like it was manufactured.

Drake has the biggest buzz since 50 in 02′, but its not as big as 50’s was. Back in 02′ everybody was fuckin wit 50 heavy form the most hardest niggas to the ladie. and thats the difference street niggas for the most part don’t fuck wit Drake.

His buzz isn’t as big as Fifty in 2002-2003, and I can say this honestly with an unbiased opinion because I’m a fan of Drake since Comeback Season, 50 Cent had a god-like following in 02′ especially when he was getting at Ja Rule and GRODT dropped. Drake’s buzz is more comparable to Lil Wayne’s buzz in 2005-06 when Lil Wayne released The Dedication mixtape series, that was a pretty big buzz and it got Wayne about 50+ features on songs in that time period. Drake will go platinum first week because his fan base is solid, he has teenagers like myself and he has the 20+ crowd as well and a sh!t load of female groupies who buy albums for collection, he is a reincarnation of Kanye West mixed with Lil Wayne, but not quite as controversial like those two.
