50 cent may have the bigger stardom power, but Rick Ross dropped the better album. If you dont think Magnificent, Mafia Music, All I Really want, Rich Off Cocaine, Usual Suspects and Lay Back arent hits than i dont know what kinda of hip hop you are listening to. Sure 50 Cent may have expose ross but Rick ross had more hits and he stayed consistent. 50 Cent had baby by me and ok ya right but ross’ singles were more better than 50. Enough Said!

Im not a big 50 Cent fan or a big Rick Ross fan but if you listen to both albums properly, listen to the lyrics, the themes, the production…50 Cent has a far better album! The features on Rick Ross album appeared in majority of hip hop albums this year, The Dream, T-Pain, Lil Wayne. What are the most memorable parts of Rock Ross songs…the chorus!…which he never does…theres always someone else singing. Rick Ross hasnt made a proper hit on his OWN since Hustlin’.

deeper than rap was the best album of rick ross’s career better than trilla and port of miami there were superb cuts on that album from a musical standpoint , but b4isd is also dope it has some of that hard edged hip-hop the game needs to remind itself of its glory days , but it also has some noise pollution on their as well.

at the end of the day , its really a preference thing one cant deny the replay value of deeper than rap , but b4isd brings you back to the gold old days of new york beats and gangsta rhymes.

ill put my vote down for b4isd right now because that is what im bumping , but only time will tell if either or both become classics.

rick ross may be a fraudulent lying ass donut eating , fake louis sunglass wearin carl winslow lookin, escort wifeing trick ass , former prision guard , turned undercover hip-hop cop “larry lock-a-rapper” but he knew how to put together music , thats something you cant take away from him even if he never gets to put out another cd for the rest of his career.

Rick Ross easily had the better album out of the two. I read all these posts about Rick Ross being a fraud, but the fact of the matter is most of your favorite rappers are frauds, these guys are paid to entertain us lets not forget that. I could really care less about who sold the most drugs or who busts the most guns its about music. Now with that being said Ross in my opinion put out the second best rap album of the year behind the Blueprint 3. I am a 50 fan but I honestly can’t say that I have seen much growth from Get Rich or Die Tryin to Before I Self Destruct. Ross in my opinion with every album constantly raises the bar for himself and continues to show growth in his music. Maybe as time passes and all of this who’s real and who’s not bullshit subsides you people will really appreciate that Deeper than Rap album. And accept it for what it was and that is a modern day Hip Hop CLASSIC!!!!!!!

I haven’t heard Rick Ross album in its entirety, but he definitely has some dope shit on it. Mafia Music, Cigar Music, Usual Suspects and Magnificent were dope joints. That being said, I find myself struggling to admit that BISD is a decent effort by Fif, and kinda exceeded my expectations. I am not a big fan of 50, but real recognize real, he knows how to make songs. I’m know his whole body of work including all his mixtapes, and given that War Angel and Forever King were dope, I still thought his flow became monotonous with the same “stay clipped up, move with the sig and the tech” guns and murder 1 talk. But for some reason, the production on BISD make his music sound a lil bit fresher, remarkably enough that you kinda begin to like Fif again, even if you hate all his fuckery. I didn’t even know he had enough in him to do a song like Then Days went By. Crime Wave, Strong Enough, I got Swag, the Invasion are crazy cuts, and now I find myself being able to enjoy his music again. Even though we all know that Fif is lets say “compromised” on a lyrical level, the emotion he put into those songs bleed. This album aint’ great, but its definitely good. Sonically, not lyrically, this album is equal to BP3, as I listen to probably 7-8 tracks faithfully on both. And the one thing that I give 50 props is he did this album with minimal guest appearances and did most of his hooks. This album should quiet the people, including myself, that 50 would spiral away into the abyss of rap waste because of his inability to reinvent himself and make good music. And Ross, I think he’s dope, but he’s become somewhat of a character. So both of them have major character flaws that detract from how we perceive the music, but both albums are equal, which ultimately means 50 wins cuz this album was supposed to be garbage. He leaks his album and drops it on Itunes a week before his album date, so this might pad his first wk numbers. The man is acutely smart and unscrupulous in his business moves, as he is willing to go lengths (manufactured beef, cartoons, Pimpin curly, push Styles shit back) that only a narcissist does, like he’s trying to actually “rule” hip-hop. He’s in a “space” where none of these dudes can really budge him, as seeing the Lox, which are legends, cheese on camera with this dude after all the back and forth made me realize that even though ish could pop off, most of this is WWE. 50 wins again. (unfortunately)

Lyrically, Rick Ro$$ won off “Mafia Music” alone, 50 did Pimpin’ Curly, webisodes with his baby moms but the music was wack. Deeper than Rap is a very small short effort by Rick Ross.. as side from the beef, his album title doesnt not coincide at all with the overall feel of his record. His album seems all over the place no real direction from start to finish. When you go back and listen to Trilla and Port of Miami, it’s like WTF is this? Both of those albums told a story. Nothing really stood out at all, even from a featured single perspective. What was his leading single, that was in rotation consistently? He failed miserably. 1/10, One point for Maybach Music 2. Good features, but really didnt utilized that record at all.

50 cent before i self destruct is a great effort. He delivers 3 impeccable hard tracks of the likes of ‘Crime Wave’, ‘Stretch’, ‘Death To My Enemies’. He’s delivery is crazy..And it’s unfortunate that it will go without really being noticed because of the climate of the music industry. Moving along ‘Do you think about me’, ‘Could’ve Been You’ (even though that leaked nearly 10 months ago), and ‘I Got Swag’ are excellent tracks directed for the female audience. Now after those 6 tracks, you’ve still got ‘Flight 187′ and ‘Hold Me Down’…. I thought ‘Pyscho’ (was a weak effort from Fif and Eminem), didnt quite meet my expectations… Rating this on a scale of 10.. I would have to give this an 8/10. Not his best body of work still, but definitely allot better from the Curtis release. I think he should have held on to the ‘I get it in’ record for dear life.. That would have been a great single to have.

Although it was full of lies, Depper Than Rap was the better album. The production was great, lyrics were ok, overall just a solid album. BISD wasn’t what I was expecting. I keep waiting for 50 to get his shit together but he will never be what he was. 50 is basically a shell of his former glory.

Deeper Than Rap – That album was his lame ass attempt to survive in the Mainstream Leauge. Every single track had a guest appearance, it was more like a COMPILATION than a “Rick Ross” album . . . . people buy Rick Ross albums to hear 80% of him rapping and a good 20% of guest artist, but mainly Rick.

BISD – That album was a real “50 Cent” album, it was REAL, HARD, 85% street with 3 Radio friendly songs (Baby By Me, Hold Me Down, Do you Think About Me?) He kept things true to himself and experimented with the New Generation of electro-hip hop sound with Polo the Don beats. From start to finish you can tell he put this album together in a certain order.

Honestly I think Ross, Deeper than rap had more substance and was alot well put together The production was a 8/10 lyrics were like a 6/10 and well selected features.

At this point i’ll have to go with BISD and also think that it may be too early to compare the two. Ross’ album has been out for months and it’s sunk in, it is what it is at this point. Fif’s, officially, hasn’t be released yet and athough most have heard it, i don’t think it’s sunk in to most people the vision he had for the album (where it progressed and showed him progressing….the music early was hard, street, wild then it slowed down alittle talking about when he got his money and the baby mama drama that ensued). This shit is based off the music alone! Don’t none of us know Rick Ross or 50, so quit that biased bull shit! I don’t know how people hate people they never met a day in their life. If 50 came and said I got a 100 grand a year job for you, none of you would turn it down. Same said for Rick. Now off the music, MY PERSONAL OPINION is 50. Definately his best work since Get Rich. I like when dudes grow and switch it up as well as everyone else, but Ross tries keeps pushing his albums in the Easy listening category as far as I’m concearned. Yeah the records are dope, but it seems forced as if he’s pushing into the easy listening category\ elevator music just to make him seem more Mafia like. 50 is being who he was from the jump (A business man trying to make hit records.) This is some of his hardest music I’ve heard to date as well. So that’s my opinion and my argument to why. I’m willing to be wrong if you have an argument as to why Deeper Than Rap is better. I know it probably won’t happen, but can you guys challenge yourselves and do the same and not base it on your personal opinion that 50 is a snitch (and you’ve never grown up around dude,) or Rick being a C.O. (which was dudes 9-5 at some point, but that’s his business and his way of supporting himself, so let him get his money.) It’s childish and you’re spending your lives hating someone instead of gettin yours and makin shit happen for yourself! If you flow yourself, make a better album then them, that way we can have some good music out there, instead of all this hating bull shit, cause that’s what’s really polluting the music now a days.

BISD goes hard. Quisefromdaroc can suck a big fat cock, because your comparing curtis ( w. club hits, radio singles) to BISD a hardcore hip hop album with only 2 chick songs. BISD is 10xs better then curtis was, and was better then Rick Ross’ album. I didn’t even listen to Ross’ album but I listened to 50’s and it was straight garbage. Only 2 songs stood out: So Disrespectful (which is the same old tired play of 50 trying to use beef to sell records) and Psycho (on which Eminem obviously ghost-wrote 50’s rhymes for him.. and he STILL isn’t sounding that great.. you know there’s something wrong when you’re spitting Em’s rhymes on sick beats and you don’t knock one out of the park). Ross’s album may not have been that great, I really don’t know because I didn’t give it a listen, but it had to be better than 50s.. The thing with 50 is that every album he gets progressively worse. Everyone I know was let down when they heard BISD.. they expected a lot more and even though Curtis wasn’t that great, it was still far better than this one. And as far as record sales, they don’t mean anything. Ross outsold Jada and I didn’t need to listen to Ross’s album to know that Jada’s album was one of the hottest of the year. The truth is 50 stopped progressing as an atist; he his his peak with GRODT and it’s been all downhill from there. Every time he’s got an album coming out (and a lot of rappers do this) he says he’s taking it back to his old style/rhymes/lifestyle/subject matter but it’s always just the same old song and dance. BISD was such a disappointment that I hope he doesn’t sign a new record contract. And what happened to quitting after Kanye beat you? Stop embarrassing yourself 50.. and Ross stop embarrassing yourself too.. SMH…

ROSS album is a Classic….I havent stop listening to it once since I brought…that album is hot…

We have it programmed in the XBOX…a friend came over recently and he was like dayum I didnt buy that CD yet my friend told me it was a CLASSIC…

Niggas don’t listen to the music, they just either like Ross or like 50. I don’t like Ross cuz he seems so fabricated and put together by some record exec, but his album had its bright spots. But at the end of the day, BISD is better than DTR. 50s album is 50s album. Ross’ album sounds more like a compilation.

50 – BISD (8 1/2 outta 10)…50 got some cuts on this album, definitely respect him for bringin’ that feel back to hip-hop..that raw, gritty feel…production was on par, and he definitely had the formula correct for every song…just gel’d real nice. 50 didn’t expose rick tho, rick exposed himself
So 50 don’t get a plus for that, but he does get a plus for consistency in “SHITTIN” on his opponent.. Ross kinda fell back from the shit, like almost bow’d out but still talk here and there about it, like he’s won…yeah maybe the battle shit, but the war belongs to 50 easily yo..

Rick Ross – DTP (8 outta 10)…I enjoy this album from Ross. I certainly don’t believe he had more jewls on this than he had on Port Of Miami…that was his debut, so the hunger was different. Ross production on DTP carried the album half-way, and his delivery did the other half..it’s no really his lyrics that catch people ear, it’s the way his “Baws!” voice translates on wax…it’s almost beauty in it’s finest. He really doesn’t have that lyrical appeal (nor does 50), so I can’t base an opinion off that, especially when all I hear is ‘guns, drugs, and rich living’ (all of which is pretty much played in rap). Ross don’t get any plus’ neither, as his battle tactics we’re less than appealing.

Kept talking about killing folks and busting off guns etc. (he WILL NOT do that bc it puts his money in jeopardy.)got to so disrespecful. it was cool.
