50 is a lucky artist who luckily has Eminem and Dre behind him (NO HATE). Before 50 cents sees a single dime of any type of music he makes, Eminem and Dr. Dre are significantly paid first, actually Jimmy Iovine gets hit up before them two…but hope you see where I”m taking this.
Jay-Z had a distribution deal with Def Jam in 1997 that sets him up to receive most of the $ that comes which then filters into his rocafella empire where he was the major force behind it, no Dre or Em. Just him as an artist, Dame and Biggs as background players and no major production…Jay-Z drew his own lane, when it comes to this music shit…just like Nas did.
He then signs another distribution deal with Roc nation…so BP3 is pretty much an “independent” album…just distributed by Atlantic and Marketed by roc nation….so the primary $$ receiver is Jay-Z…and the head honchos in Atlantic and Roc nation.
Let’s be clear, the only reason 50 cent has so much money is because of his debut album that sold soo many records..and his second album, he took that momentum and started making deals at the time. G-Unit Clothing, Sneakers, Label etc…so a great deal of his money came because he took advantage of his situation which I don’t knock at ALL!!!!!!!! believe me no hate at all.
But also notice that most of those deals that he made clothing, sneakers, label…no longer are generating $$ like they used to….so now he’s only left with him self as the force…but his sales are no consistent or as big as they were before.
What is saving him is that he has a great deal of investments, movies etc…
Is ready to sell his mansion…(get the drift)..is not because he wants to sell it…so you really think he wants to sell his mansion in this real estate market?? if so, then you’re a dummy. He sees that is income is dwindling and he can no longer sustain the expenses like he used to….don’t get me wrong he’s a multimillionaire….but 50 is no dummy, nor are his financial advisers….
But to say him and Hov are the same is ridiculous…Jay-Z is a Boss…when it comes to this music shit….50 is an artist who got signed and put on…and the minute he stops making money, is the minute he will get shelved just like the rest of them….6 years don’t mean shit….Hov has 13 and counting..and he still relevant.
Remember in the 90s…besides Snoop, (when the west had it locked) no one was selling records like that and Hip Hop was not as lucrative as when 50 came in…so truthfully 50 is one of those rare situations that rarely happen…he was just smart enough to copy what Puff and Jay-Z were doing at the time in terms of branching out…but let’s not get it twisted he’s not doing anything that wasn’t already done.

50 is a lucky artist who luckily has Eminem and Dre behind him (NO HATE). Before 50 cents sees a single dime of any type of music he makes, Eminem and Dr. Dre are significantly paid first, actually Jimmy Iovine gets hit up before them two…but hope you see where I”m taking this.
Jay-Z had a distribution deal with Def Jam in 1997 that sets him up to receive most of the $ that comes which then filters into his rocafella empire where he was the major force behind it, no Dre or Em. Just him as an artist, Dame and Biggs as background players and no major production…Jay-Z drew his own lane, when it comes to this music shit…just like Nas did.
He then signs another distribution deal with Roc nation…so BP3 is pretty much an “independent” album…just distributed by Atlantic and Marketed by roc nation….so the primary $$ receiver is Jay-Z…and the head honchos in Atlantic and Roc nation.
Let’s be clear, the only reason 50 cent has so much money is because of his debut album that sold soo many records..and his second album, he took that momentum and started making deals at the time. G-Unit Clothing, Sneakers, Label etc…so a great deal of his money came because he took advantage of his situation which I don’t knock at ALL!!!!!!!! believe me no hate at all.
But also notice that most of those deals that he made clothing, sneakers, label…no longer are generating $$ like they used to….so now he’s only left with him self as the force…but his sales are no consistent or as big as they were before.
What is saving him is that he has a great deal of investments, movies etc…
Is ready to sell his mansion…(get the drift)..is not because he wants to sell it…so you really think he wants to sell his mansion in this real estate market?? if so, then you’re a dummy. He sees that is income is dwindling and he can no longer sustain the expenses like he used to….don’t get me wrong he’s a multimillionaire….but 50 is no dummy, nor are his financial advisers….
But to say him and Hov are the same is ridiculous…Jay-Z is a Boss…when it comes to this music shit….50 is an artist who got signed and put on…and the minute he stops making money, is the minute he will get shelved just like the rest of them….6 years don’t mean shit….Hov has 13 and counting..and he still relevant.
Remember in the 90s…besides Snoop, (when the west had it locked) no one was selling records like that and Hip Hop was not as lucrative as when 50 came in…so truthfully 50 is one of those rare situations that rarely happen…he was just smart enough to copy what Puff and Jay-Z were doing at the time in terms of branching out…but let’s not get it twisted he’s not doing anything that wasn’t already done.
