Technically, he hasn’t “lost” a beef with anyone, because he only wins them when it comes to marketing. All the people he has beefed with faded out; mostly because they weren’t good/popular themselves, or had other issues going on (Ja Rule). 50 Cent doesn’t have the power to take out anyone’s career; I mean really, who’s career has he taken out?

You can’t say Ja Rule because he went down with Murder Inc. in that whole money laundering charge (although that “beef” with 50 didn’t help, because it gave the appearance that his disses did damage)

You can’t say Jadakiss because his last album did well financially.

You can’t say Fat Joe, because none of his albums have really ever sold “a lot” except JOSE (technically speaking, on the grounds of how high Hip-Hop puts the caliber on album sales), but his albums do follow consistency of selling over 100,000 copies, before and after the 50 Cent beef. And his last album, JOSE 2, was heavily under promoted. That’s not because of 50 Cent, that’s just poor marketing.

You can’t say The Game, because The Game has led on a very successful career since his “departure” from G-Unit, and is a main pillar in contemporary West Coast Rap.

You can’t say Nas because he’s still doing well financially, and is still selling records. If anything is hurting him, it’s his divorce- which isn’t 50’s fault. LOL

You can’t say Cam’ron because he technically hasn’t pushed any units since 2004 alone, and it’s not 50’s fault the Diplomat’s split up either.

You can’t say Rick Ross, because Deeper than Rap went on to become a successful album generated by a beef which he caused himself. Albeit his image looks like shit now, the only reason why his group “Triple C’s” did bad was, again, out of poor marketing. It just came out; not much traditional marketing, viral marketing, guerilla marketing, or digital marketing. They were on 106 and Park, probably hit up only a couple of radio stations if anything, and released an album. If anything, 50 Cent was successful at making Rick Ross look bad, and look like a liar (which he is), but his career isn’t over.

You can’t say Young Buck, because he damaged his own career. Bu he’s still signed on G-Unit Records. And he’s still putting out an album. Out of everyone, his career is the most damaged because he went against the person who was actually in control of his music career.

You can’t say Lil’ Wayne, because Lil’Wayne is still popular. For some reason.

And you definitely can’t say Kanye West, because he technically lost the SoundScan Battle to Kanye, but won from the hype and marketing around it. He won because he sold more albums than he was going to before.

At the end, 50 wins because of the genius behind using beefs as a marketing tool. Other than that, when you actually analyze the beefs, no one really won because no one really lost. They either continued to be successful, or continued to suck.

Just my opinion. Let’s discuss, though. I mean, no offense to 50 Cent or anyone. I just don’t see it.

#11 = I agree with you on them points. 50 only wins when people PAY ATTENTION TO HIM. Thats it. Simple and plain. When people keep watchin his vid feeds or entertaining him and his ‘beefs’, he will get paid some kinda way off of it.

In order for our music to get back to where it once was, this type of “marketing” has to go right along with its originator/creator. its filling up the airwaves with crap. Filler if you will. The crap that isnt top shelf. the crap that doesnt make the album/cd cut.

I see 50 is all over the place and i guess thats good for him and his pockets. he has said many times he doesnt care about noone but $$$. so he will Do whatever it takes to get YOURS. Even if 50 Cent becomes a gold artist he still has more stature in the game than Ross or any of those other rappers will ever have. 50 Cent has international hits that he can perform for years to come. In Da Club, PIMP, I Get Money, Baby By Me, Just A Lil Bit… He makes hit records and he got mad hits on BISD. I can gaureentee that his first week numbers are more than 150,000 and even if he did do 150,000 how many rappers serr those first week numbers? Not very many. Im not a stan Im just tellin the truth.

#17, I appreciate your response, but I am disappointed that you came at me instead of just questioning me, in your defense of 50 Cent. But I will respond to your question:

Well, lets review the people you mentioned because I never said “No one’s career has never been taken out lyrically.” In fact, you are the one who proposed that question; I just said 50 hasn’t done that, which you haven’t refuted.

Em is obviously better than Benzino, and may have lyrically smashed him, but Eminem has nothing to do with Benzino’s musical failure. Benzino has never been, as far as sales go, a “successful rapper”. As you can see in my original post, I’m specifically talking about album sales as that is the main driving point of beefs nowadays; generating buzz, and making money off such buzz. Anyway, the most success he’s had (period) was co-owning The Source, that of which he started to turn into a biased, untrustworthy hip hop magazine. In the essence, Benzino started to fuck himself up. You cannot give credit to Eminem for ruining Benzino’s career.

The BDP and Juice Crew beef is starkly different than any other beef mentioned, primarily because this dispute was one of the first rap beefs, and wasn’t a marketing ploy; also, it was 80’s hip hop, which is completely non comparable to 90s hip hop, let alone 00’s, simply based on the changes in hip hop, around hip hop, and in the music industry itself. But you are right; in most hip hop fan’s eyes, MC Shan lost. But it begs the question: what’s your point?

Nas and Jay-Z battle is a hip hop debatable, in which you are purporting your opinion as fact; what I mean is, we can argue all day who won, because it’s based on opinion. And that doesn’t refute my point; it only proves it, as both of them have had successful careers after the beef, and are considered hip hop legends. And Jay-Z is still pulling numbers. Again: What’s your point?

Kool Mo Dee? Busy Bee? I wouldn’t call that a beef, sir. It was more of a battle rap competition, not a series of songs aimed at each other over the years to effect each others career standing. It was a battle rap. So, again: What’s your point?

#27 I agree. The idea of “beefs” are getting old. Hip Hop is relatively unique in the sense that its one of the only genre’s that have “beef” like this, if not the only one. The issue is that its a marketing scheme that works every time, and it ends up pushing bad music on the listeners. Instead of making these ploys to help sell your music, you should rely on traditional marketing and ACTUAL good music. This “beef” stuff is immature, and annoying now. I just wish to hear great music, and most beefs songs aren’t even good. They’re often hastily put together, then shoved on the album to generate buzz.

Ross—gimmie a fuckin break–i know ross can’t just say “yeah I shoulda known better than to fuck with dude”. Ross wanted attention–he got the wrong kind. Damn I love 50 for what he did to that dude. I forgot Cam’ron—-I heard 1 track from each artist Cam had Curtis n 50 had Funeral Music. 50’s track was the only 1 not garbage!
