Michael Vick Gets A Reality Show On BET

Michael Vick has reached a deal with the BET network on an eight-part documentary series that will portray the Eagles QB from his childhood through his prison term and into the present. “I just want people to really get to know me as an individual,” Vick told the Los Angeles Times. “What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”

it’s official. bet is now lame. they just like mtv & vh1 now. i hate that viacom own all them channels & bob johnson sold it to buy that sh&tty bobcats team.

they gona cancel 106 next & not even play videos, like mtv did trl, & vh1 did there stuff, this is so sad. nobody wants to see this crap. any of it. man.

if they focused more on showcasing music, record sales wouldn’t be as low.

this guy sucks he’ll never be back to his old skills, and now he wants a reality show on BET of all channels, he is such a bum i hope he gets robbed, when signed to the eagles he said he wants to be greatness not popularity, yea he lied, if i was his teamate i’d tell him to shut up and practice but he wants his own show, Brady, Rivers, the Mannings, Brees, even Mcnabb all future hall of fame QB’s, none of them ever did a reality show, they focused on football and there hard work payed off, this loser vick killed dogs while in the process of becoming one of the greats got locked up now he suks and instead of just going hard on the feild and proving he still can ball it up he does this shit, he is a loser anyway u look at it

Couple of thoughts.

For the sake of Mike Vick, I hope this show is boring. Otherwise that means its gonna be about drama in his life, which is not needed.

When you think about all the blogs and myspace, facebook etc. Is there really a need for tons of music on TV? You can pretty much access anything about music on the internet, including videos. We as consumers are the direct reason for anything that is produced: Tabloids, Reality TV, Blogs.

Without enough people buying into this stuff and supporting it, they would not exist.
A lot of the people that complain about BET are the ones that will continue to watch it. Personally I stopped watching BET and I don’t really care what they put on it BUT I am concerned with the fact that they call it “Black” entertainment.

What does that even mean? Are they claiming that everything they put on their channel reps a whole people? I know plenty of people who consider themselves black but dont feel like BET reps who they are.

Like CMT for example, Lets be honest its a dominantly white channel but they don’t call themselves WET, because its programming isn’t based on race but more so a certain culture of people.. Country people or for lack of better terms..Rednecks and so forth.

I just thought I’d bring this up to encourage people to speak up about getting BET’s name changed to something more specific than black. I’ve seen and heard many acts who are dominantly black but don’t get play on BET. Black is not a genre.
