Kanye West Mini Movie, “We Were Once A Fairytale”
“We Were Once A Fairytale” – Kanye West Dir: Spike Jonze from Yooj? on Vimeo.
The movie was obviously vision of what life is like from Kanye’s perspective. His vision for art is second to none in the rap game right now. I think he was sayin whatever was “inside” of him at one point, is now dead and gone. Hence, the knife and death of whatever that “was” inside of him. I think its fair to say, this movie was a metaphor for a change in Kanye’s life.

The pics are from Kanye West upcoming book, “Through the Wire: Lyrics & Illuminations,” which releases November 10th.
This is a rare partnership between two geniuses at the top of their crafts — Kanye West, who was named “the smartest man in hip-hop” by Time magazine, and Bill Plympton, an Academy Award-nominated animator, cartoonist, and illustrator.
Through the Wire is a graphic memoir that illustrates the lyrics of twelve Kanye West songs to tell his story, from his decision to drop out of college to pursue his dreams in music, through his days spent folding chinos at the Gap while struggling at night to make a name as a producer, through the pivotal car accident that eventually set him on the course to stardom and the epiphany of realizing exactly who he had become:
“…They say people in your life are like seasons, And anything that happens is for a reason…”Plympton illustrates each of the songs in detail, his vision of Kanye’s world. The songs are annotated with explanations of the references in the songs, biographical components that illuminate the lyrics, and their meaning on a deeply personal level. The result is a one-of-a-kind book that initially grabs you and stays with you forever.

I thought it was good. It doesn’t surprise me that the many retarded COONS on this website, such as yourselves, wouldn’t understand art. Especially because it doens’t have a bunch of half naked broads throwin stacks on top of a Bentley. Props to Kanye yet again for making something no other rapper could ever do.

@16 Name. Because I can guy. My perspective is very clear and that’s evident in what i wrote describing what I thought Kanye was trying to depict. I’m not saying i was right or wrong, but i thoroughly explained what I thought I saw in the movie. As far as the coon comment, its hardly racist, it’s more like a realistic statement. There are hardly never any intelligent comments on this website. However, I’m sure there are intelligent people. It’s not about whether or not people agree or disagree with one another. It’s about explaining an opinion with logic in a way people can understand it whether they agree or not. The beauty of being a human is the fact that we CAN disagree. A lot of people on here say dumb ignorant comments that intelligent black people shouldn’t make. Therefore, I call them coons because that’s what they sound like to me. Is that enough perspective for you guy?
October 18th, 2009 at 10:00 pm

its like watchin rugrats
October 18th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
pretty crazy, whatever kanye does i support it, hes really branched out from being a behind the scenes kinda guy with all the early hov cd’s and other projects to being a multi platinum artists himself, designing his own shoes from louis vuitton to air yeezy’s, signing artists, his own clothing brand underway , a book, the glow in the dark tour being UNBELIEVABLE , the dude is a big artists and he does whatever he wants whenever he wants, even his 808 and heartbreaks which is clearly a different genre of music, managed to sell and be #1 on the charts for sooo long, YE is a beast, no signs on stopping.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
i dnt give a fuck
October 18th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
It was genius. Over yall’s heads.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
that was hot, jus like kanye west very creative and different, something the game needs
October 19th, 2009 at 12:14 am
It was very creative! I appreciate works like this because it had a message thats even over my head right now and thats simply because just like 808 & heartbreaks (which I didn’t like really) has more meaning than what the face value says so people heard about a autotune cd and took it as kanye trying to be different but really he was trying to get emotions out. Nobody’s perfect, and Kanye’s a genius from all the beats he has created to peices like this. this can apply to everyone in a way and thats why i love kanye’s work. Really hope he humbles up cause I cant deal with his antics much longer and this is from a dedicated fan….. take time off and get it together. The best part is just like The Catcher in the Rye, Kanye like Holden brought up real topics but included comedy just to lighten the aura but still keep the true meaning if that makes any sense
October 19th, 2009 at 12:47 am
am i seeing things or does it say kanye is the smartest man in hiphop. no disrespect 2 my boi yeezy, but i can easily name 5 rappers smarter than him. i think he’s a musical genius, but not a genius in any other aspect. i think kanye is a way better rapper than 50 but idk if kanye is even smarter than him…..
October 19th, 2009 at 1:48 am
Okay, so I’m not a big Kanye fan – if anything, he gives off a very “self-important” vibe in his music that I can’t stand half the time – but MAD props to him for revealing so much of himself (insecurities, and overall dickhead behavior).
But I agree (and yes, I am being condescending and a tad self-righteous) – most people on here completely missed the point of this short, and are generally blunted-out idiots.
“wtf i dnt understand dis shit dun suckkzz”
Yeah, STFU and go download Gucci Mane’s latest mixtape, you web thug retards.
AND BTW, all of you who consider Kanye to be a “genius” because a stupid magazine labeled him one need to reevaluate your importance on this planet (as in, taking up space that someone more useful [such as myself] could be occupying). Yes, he’s talented, but honestly, anyone who makes it a point to display their self-proclaimed genius usually isn’t one.
Go fuck yourselves.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:05 am
Was Wayne supposed to be the little gremlin? Smh
October 19th, 2009 at 2:07 am
I like his legs..Kanye getting explicit on the net..smh
October 19th, 2009 at 2:10 am
haha bloggers be real self important and self righteous, this shit is just funny to watch.
October 19th, 2009 at 4:37 am
@#37
nice reference to Catcher, good to see there are people on this site that read true literature.
@#39
thank you for that genius comment, it bothers the shit outta me that people throw around the word like its something you achieve by havin some hot songs.
The reason I can appreciate Kanye is because he does put out great music, he surrounds himself with other great artists like Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry, he has a crazy work ethic and standard for quality, he has a great eye and understanding for art in general. A lot of his stuff is hit or miss but for my taste most of the time it hits but I will not bow down to everything he does just because its him.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:41 am
WOW THIS SHIT IS DEPRESSING
he must really be lonely and empty inside
October 19th, 2009 at 11:46 am
Complex indeed. I like.
And @ 43, I agree.

I am Darren Cubie Jones I am the son of Creadel Jones from the music group this Chi Lites and the Enchanters, Deisderos. I and our Family of the Chi Lites and Jackie Wilson would like to discuss the stories of the legacy of the my father from the Chi Lites who died homeless after selling 150,000,000 million records from his label Brunswick Records that also included the Chi Lites and manger and mentor Jackie Wilson.
It’s a long keep secret that many legendary black musicians was keep from ever making money from their hundreds of millions of records sales in their legacies. But what’s not every really said is what happening during the legacies of legendary black icons like my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites and the Enchanters. Mistreatment threw out the decades of my father legendary Chi Lites carrier is what played a role in causing my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites to be imprisoned in the all to done abuse and mistreatment that Hollywood refuses to tell concerning the deaths from abuse and racist cover ups toward black icons and the Chi Lites and the legendary Jackie Wilson and the treatment that criminals in the mob got away with to black legendary entertainers like the Chi Lites and Jackie Wilson and recently the legendary Michael Jackson who where associated to my father and the Chi Lites and Jackie Wilson and the Brunswick Records label and CBS Label.
I have seen many different kinds of criminals in the entertainment field but none as bold as those who are the mistreated of my father Creadel Jones founding member of the Chi Lites and an Enchanters group member. Seeing unheard of abuse and mistreatment for instance a arm that had been broke from the gangsters of a criminal mob ring and his label Brunswick Records that had given a threat to me and my mother and the Chi Lites and my father Creadel not to tell a legal district attorney anything about the abuse of Brunswick are the murder gangsters behind it.
Many people say that Jackie Wilson faked a stroke not to have to testify against a gangster that ran Brunswick Records letter he died mysteriously. After my father Creadel Jones died mysteriously in Glendale California I and mother and two sister where mysteriously contacted by founding member Marshall Thompson of the Chi Lites and Enchanters and I was told that my father Creadel Jones was dead after I had been told that my father had been homeless and was in poverty. According to Marshall Thompson he had visited my father Creadel Jones in order to get him to come back to the Chi Lites for a reunion but was told by my father that he didn’t want anything to do with it are Marshall Thompson are the Chi Lites because he felt our family and he was mistreated and abused.
After how my father was allowed to be left in poverty sleeping on the street and under a bridge who could blame him!! My father and his legendary group accomplished selling over 150,000,000 million records and over a half a dozen different Hall a Fames achievements including Life Time Achievement Award and Billboard Hall Of Fame , Soul Train Hall Of Fame , Vocal Group Hall of Fame, R/B Hall Of Fame and a Grammy Award.
Despite the record sales and even amazing remakes from urban and well known singers like Beyonce, UB40, Paul Young and urban legends hip hoppers like Jay Z and Mc. Hammer in which broke world records in album sales selling over 19,000,000 million from Beyonce remake and over 10,000,000 million from Mc. Hammers remake of Have You Seen Her and opening for the first time ever given to a urban rapper the first diamond album to a rapper are hip hop artist musician. Despite that my family was barely able to afford housing.
In fact I was living in a Brooklyn shelter at the time I were attempting to deal with Jay Z and Russell recently lived at a shelter located in Rochester New York named Francis Center but will be as of Oct 2009 living at 599 West Main Street Apt 7 Rochester New York 14604 After enduring poverty and mobsters that impoverished my family from abuse to our legacy from the Chi Lites by my father and my mother attempted to contact Oprah in order to gain connections to entertainment legal representatives but was not able to gain any substance. My mother and our family went on to try to protect the legacy of my father legendary Chi Lites music group but my mother wound up dead from diabetes and stress that played ever part in declining her condition she went into a coma and died.
My two sisters and their kids and I barely were able to even cover her funeral after the records company Brunswick and Chi Lites singer Marshall Thompson promised to send 10,000 dollars from a deal that I had help create from Beyonce and Jay Z in which I was lead to do because of the royalties abuse to my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites. My mother had gotten so tired of being forced to endure royalties and mental abuse from exploitation of the revenues of my father Creadel Jones from his group the Legendary Chi Lites until she told me that she could not continue to undergo abuse and that her health was in jeopardy from the stress she had been hospitalized a few times from high blood pressure from the stress and we need to do something I suggested that I could find someone to help so I went to Manhattan New York from St. Louis to talk to Brunswick Records owner Paul son of the original owner Nat former manger of Jackie Wilson.
I had talk to Paul a few times before and always seemed to have conflicted. But I knew that her life could be at risk from the abuse and stress, so I went I was only a kid 21 are 22 years old. I had to live homeless we I got to Manhattan New York in the area near 42 second street are 41st street. I nearly got attacked one time at the homeless shelter. I went to talk to Paul at my father’s record label and manger
Jackie Wilson label. I could not get in the ground I needed so I went on to try to find an associated entertainer. that could help. I was able to find BB King by walking down 42 street were the BB King Night club had been announcing a concert special that had been announced that was going on after I arrived. I was able to talk to BB King after I had talk to a worker of BB Kings I didn’t know how to put all the abuse that lead to the death of my father are the condition of my mother Deborah Jones wife of my father for over twenty years. But I explained it clearly and loudly as possible.
After expressing that my father Creadel Jones was a founding musician for the Chi Lites and that he died in homelessness and abuse in Glendale California I was shock are surprised to hear the reply of BB King he said Darren your father is more popular than me BB King. After explaining and hearing BB King tell and explain how he meet my father and his legendary group the Chi Lites I was allowed to leave empty with nothing other than a shocking compliment and BB Kings memories of my father Creadel Jones I left in tears and sadden even worse. I returned back to the Manhattan 42 drop in shelters. It was charismas month holiday and I wanted to surprise my mother by getting some help to get her and my two sisters out of poverty.
I decided to find Russell Simons because I felt that he could help and offer direction and guidance so I asked someone who was formulizer with Manhattan New York how could I go to Def Jam Records Russell Simons Office Head Quarter located in down town Manhattan New York. I left a message concerning me and my father’s music legacy from his legendary Chi Lites group and said I would like to speak to him and my mother widow of my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites concern the Chi Lites and our legacy.
I was told to wait by an employee of the record label and I meet Jay Z and Damon Dash I had already typed a business statement up stating the story of what happen with my father and the Chi Lites and an offer to purchases the rights from royalties of my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites. Jay Z said he would do something in order to help but said he had to go to a meeting and left saying he was interested and would contact me latter about it.
Months went by and I was listen to the radio and heard my father’s song remade by Beyonce and contacted the lawyer Jay B Ross that was representing our Chi Lites revenues and was told by Jay Ross that Beyonce had remade a song named are you my woman by my father and his group the Chi Lites and that a amount was paid over 370,000 dollars but was not ever sent to me nor any family member including my mother that I knew of.
My mother wife Deborah Jones of my father for over 20+ years to my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites said she was not aware of any revenues from that song it sold over 19,000,000 and was one of the biggest selling songs in music history and stayed number one for over two months straight and went platinum and gold diamond. during this time my mother was left in such a state of financial abuse she was unable to even eat healthy quickly losing weight and getting extremely sick from the abuse and stress , she was hospitalized and put on a dialysis machine and not giving too long to live. She could not even drive without throwing up out of the car. By time I came back to visit my mother Deborah Jones she was skinny and had a tube in hear neck that had gotten put their from her arm. She was very happy to talk to me and see me but was very sick. She complained about how she could not afford good medical treatment do to the revenue abuse and the poverty out it and was very depressed from it.
I pried that she would be better and that I could find a fellow musician of the Chi Lites that could help. I did thought it was the end for her if I couldn’t find help to get her money for a better health care. I tried again to contact Oprah even going to her studio over a half dozen times and writing in letters, until I was contacted by a Senior Producer for the Oprah Show You could help by contacting Oprah and Gale King at 1-866 277-2496 and leave your thoughts concerning this you can review this and other issues by leaving your messages at Oprah on her Voice mail 1-866 277-2496 I briefly talked to Alley Wassermann and told her about the abuse that caused father Creadel Jones to die homeless and my mother to be sick and on dialyses
machine, and was told that Oprah had interest and to send the information along with the story of the abuse and mistreatment to my father and mother and other black legendary entertainers concerning this story and I did. I sent contract s from my father record label and sales revenues statement from the sales of the records of my father and his black legendary music group the Chi Lites. Latter I did not get any calls about the mistreatment and the abuse that lead to the death of not only my father Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites and the Jackie Wilson. I have still contacted Oprah and left more information and details but have not been contact by Oprah. I even left a idea for Oprah to create a program called O Ambassadors Originality created to help inner city kids out of their bad environments and give them new experiences outside of their environments, by sending them to help others in impoverished third world courtiers who need people to help them rebuild their nation out poverty and a state devastation.
I think you could use this as a story for a movie and I think you could use this as a way to help create a awareness on the abuse of legendary black entertainers legacy like my father’s Creadel Jones from the Chi Lites and our fiends the Jackson’s Michael Jackson and Jackie Wilson Legacy. I can only wish and prey you can help with this. After the death of Michael Jackson people are becoming interested in what happens to legendary black entertainers. I would like to see you and Oprah Winfery and I and the Jacksons help create a law to protect the legacies of legendary black entertainers. That would prevent the abuse to the legacies of legendary entertainers black are white are even green.
I was living at Francis Center in Rochester New York but will be as of Oct 2009 living at 599 West Main Street Apt 7 14604 the families of legendary black entertainers need your help and guidance and concern in the legacy abuse and exploitation of legendary black entertainers. I opened a organization to protect the legacies of legendary black entertainers named Entertainers Against Exploitation and Corruption located in St. Louis Mo. after my mother’s death but are still homeless and trying to get out of revenue abuse I am in Francis Center in Rochester New York I am not alone many of legends of black icons are still in poverty after opening the doors for many of today’s riches entertainers we still are left in poverty and need your help along with Oprah Winfery.
My cell phone at 619 384 5610 any time I hope you can help me our legacy from the Chi Lites and legendary black entertainers by helping us voice the truth of our legendary black legacies and the abuse that caused us to be left in poverty and deviation the legacies of Michael Jackson and the Chi Lites and other black legendary figures and icons like KRS ONE are in a state of danger we could use your help for our stories and the black legacies of behind creation our nation and this world.
There Could be a New Law and Bill Passed Protect The Legacies Of Legendary Black Entertainers You Could Be The Force To End What Caused One Of The Greatest Black Musician To Die From Mistreatment and Abuse Along with my father Creadel Jones from the legendary Chi Lites The Legacy’s Of Legendary Black Entertainers Are Waiting And Our Families. Do a movie on Black Legacy Abuse and Help the legacies and us out Of Poverty.
Love God Bless You DEARLY
