Some people need 2 stop equating the word HOT with everything else but what it actually means. Being hot is simply popularity/in demand and me being from Atlanta, I know and da majority knows Gucci gets a lot of spins and a lot of love. We arent’ talkin’ about lyrics here people. Da man only has ONE major release (Trap House was independent), but a plethora of mixtapes with HITS on them that keeps his shows booked up like a library. If you watch the countdown the criteria for “Hot” includes lyricsim, flow, impact, buzz, sales, & intangibles… Gucci Manne falls flat on basically all of those but buzz maybe? Anyway. I think it’s important to point out that although this was aired on MTV, the majority of the panelists are writers, work for reputable magazines and are pure hip-hop heads in general. So we can’t really dismiss this as more bs from MTV. And this is a list of the hottest rappers–not the most influential, talented or even literate. In terms of hotness right now, you have to put Gucci ahead of Fab. Doesn’t mean he’s a better MC, just hotter (at the moment).
