In the midst of a career surge that has made him one of rap’s biggest stars, Lil Wayne is bracing for a year behind bars after pleading guilty Thursday in a two-year-old gun case.
A glum Lil Wayne said little as he admitted illegally having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007, moving to end a case that had churned along as he collected Grammys and gold records. He’s expected to get a year in jail at his sentencing, set for February.

The T.I situation is completely different. T.I was a CONVICTED FELON and got caught buying enough machine guns to supply an army. He was facing 30 years in prison and got a year and a day. Where is the math in that? How does 1500 hours of community service trim 29 years off of a sentence. I’m not saying that he snitched because there is no proof that he did but even you have to admit that looked suspect.
The reason Wayne only got a year is because he didn’t try to beat the charges like Plaxico did. Wayne just pleaded guilty and took his time.

I don’t think people realize how big this is. It has never been an artist this big doing jail time before the history of hiphop. Remember Pac did time and got out and gave us “All eyez on me”.
