After reading this Acceptance Speech by Jay-z i though to my self.. Hmmm would Gucci Mane be able to write down anything close to this? nas vs jay is all subjective. I believe nas is a better mc, jay is the better rapper(if you a true hip hop fan you know the difference.) jay is more mainstream, so thus ppl say better. Lyric for lyric nas is every bit jay’s equal(imo hes better than jay lyrically) jay even acknowledges that. (he mentions nas in his first 4 albums, he mentions nas and em as his competition in the recent xxl mag interview) both have dropped some gems(reasonable doubt, bp, blk album, amer. ganster, bp3, illmatic, stillmatic, it was written, godson, untitled(nigger)) and some forgettables( bp2, vol3,kingdome come, nastradamous, street disciple) both are top 5 all time(dead or alive) and because of their battle(ether>takeover) they are forever linked, cant mention one without the other. lets enjoy the debate and their work, they are legends and both represent NY baby!!!!!

i dont have a problem with mtv naming jay the hottest, but their reasoning of not having em on the list is total bullshit. Gucci mane? how is 50 on the list, he put out a few decent mixed tapes, but he’s more mentioned for his antics(ie rick ross, fat joe) than his music. He is a media whore(do anything for attention, create media beefs to boost sales) no one is highly anticipating his album release(it created no buzz, thus the many push back dates) whats hot about that?
