Just saw this post, I know it’s a late pass, but seing this vid. I had to get in my Raekwon story. I get to the Rae concert a little early and I meet him by the merch. stand, where their selling mixtapes and t-shirts (this is in Europe), so the prices are real high. Theres only one mixtape available, which I already bought through his myspace and all the tees are like triple XL or something, and I’m a small dude. So I pull out my mint purple tape, which I bought 5-6 years ago, and have been waiting for him to sign. We talk about it for a bit, and he tells me to wait after the show as he would be giving autographs and signing the merch to sell. So after the show I wait in line, and when it’s my turn he gets real disrespectful “I won’t sign your f***ing tape, unless you buy something”, so I get a bit stumped and tell him that I already have that mixtape and that I can’t fit all of the shirts. Rae continues, and a couple of his guys start pushing me away. I’m like WTF is up with this guy, so I let up and buy another one of the mixtapes. Rae calms down, rips the tape out making a rip in the original mint inlay, and writes the most horrible autograph on both sides of the tape and on the inlay. The worst part is, his guys where clearing the area, so my friend couldn’t take a picture, to document that it actually was him. All-in-all a pretty disappointing event, but fuck it he’s still a fantastic rapper, I just won’t ask for his autograph again – maybe I’d ask him for an apology, and a refund on a tape that usually stacks up between 2-300 dollars on ebay.
