Floyd is an amazing boxer and he made Marquez look clueless tonight so good performance but he needs to fight the best Welterweights out there. Floyd will do the same thing against someone like Pac. I wanna see Floyd take on Mosley or Cotto or Margarito or Paul Williams.

Mayweather has never really been challenged-it seems he doesn’t want to fight the best. If he really wants to be considered a champion among true boxing fans he needs to fight the best-maybe then he’ll get that chip off his shoulder. His boxing technique is so cowardly….hit and run…hit and run I’d love to see him truly throw down-stand his ground and just go at it….that is why boxing is going down in popularity and UFC is coming up…people love to see a good fight. I truly hope that there is a Mayweather vs. Mosely or Mayweather vs. Pacquio-I’d love to see once and for all Mayweather being challenged by a worthy opponent.

Mayweather is not a coward. He’s a defensive masterful boxer. It’s all about hit and not get hit and nobody can challenge him in that department. You don’t have to like his boxingstyle but you gotta give props to him for being extremely skilled and Mayweather has perfected that style. Mayweather makes good fighter look bad because of how good he is. marquez is a great fighter but had absolutely no chance and Floyd has fought several other great fighters during his long career but most don’t really have much of a shot.
Anyway I rather see Mayweather challenge the best welterweights instead of fighting Pacquiao cause at the end of the day Mayweather would beat Pacquiao in pretty much the same fashion that he beat Marquez. Mayweather vs Mosley would be a very good fight.

Floyd Mayweather put on a outstanding performance yesterday, honestly he needed this fight to tune up and boost his confidence up. Marquez wasnt no BS fighter because he actually beat the pacman at least one time out of the two times that they fought and than mayweather made marquez look like a rookie. Floyd would do the same thing to the Pac Man, but probably knock him out because the pac man is to overly agressive, always come forward, and has poor defensive skills. Mayweather and Shane mosely would be a good fight but I believe Floyd would just out box Shane and not try to slug with him. And it up winning by decsion.

I’m not a boxing officianadoby no means but i do enjoy watching the sport no doubt.This is what i saw.
i heard everybody talking about a difference in weight..ok…i get what you guys are saying.but wouldn’t the lighter fighter be quicker.what difference does weight make when you only hit the guy with 12% of about 500 punches????? i watched the fight 2x..he hit him with 4 CLEAN shots the ENTIRE fight!!!!!! and none of those shots was fully absorbed by mayweather.i saw a fighter in mayweather that was waaay more skilled and with way more boxing ability.period.everybody knows thw risks of moving up in class.don’t get yo ass whooped badly then cry about 2lbs!!! i can understand the weight thing maybe if it was a slugfest and it was a lot of physicality.but 12%????

No it’s not only about money it’s also about LEGACY. To prove to the world and to yourself that you’re the best. Floyd calls himself the best. But you gotta fight the best to be the best. Floyd is an outstanding boxer we all know that, but there are match-ups that he needs to take if he wants to prove he’s the best. This was a very good win against a very good boxer but Floyd is a welterweight so he should fight the best welterweights. That’s why fans want to see him up against someone like Mosley for example. It’s pretty obvious Floyd knows how dangerous Mosley is but hopefully he’ll fight him next year.

Floyd absolutely destroyed Marquez, and fuck Mosley’s desperate atempt to steal Floyd’s thunder. I like Mosley, but c’mon, he isn’t a draw anymore. Floyd had called him out in 2006 and Mosley, who was the p4p champ at the time, declined to fight him. Instead, Floyd began to set his sights on Delahoya…and we all know how that ended. Floyd will end up destroying Pacquiao in the first quarter of 2010 and make a ton of cash in the process. Cotto isn’t even in the same league as Floyd…he looked like a B-class fighter in his last fight. If Cotto meets Floyd in lieu of Pac, he will get obliterated….they don’t even belong in the same ring together.

There are weight divisions for a reason you know. Marquez has never fought at that weight before and should continue to fight at 135 and 140 where he’s at his best. This was a little too much for him. Floyd is still the better boxer and would’ve won regardless. But when you’re a welterweight that’s were you should fight. there are great fighters in your own weight division who are dying to fight you and Floyd goes and picks on a smaller guy, that’s why people critisize him for this fight.
Beat up the top fighters in your own weight divison and you’ll be fine. Mosley was caught using roids back in 2003 that’s six years ago so to talk about something that happened six years ago doesn’t make any sense

I think Paul beats Floyd. Ever since that Quintana loss he’s just destroy people and the way he fights with his physical advantage. He’s 6′1 and can make welterweight easily. He’s awkward as hell has a pretty good punch, good chin good offense long as arms and throwing 100 punches in every round. That’s a nightmare for Floyd. Floyd ain’t going to fight Paul so I’m not even thinking about that fight. I hope he fights Mosley though.

The Diego Corrales win was outstanding. I love that fight. It’s true Floyd loves when people let their hands go so he can counterpunch. Maybe Floyd would beat Paul who knows. But this is the type of fights that everybody wants to see him in. Take on the biggest threats in your weightclass. I’d pick Floyd to beat most boxers out there but Paul knows how to fight tall and use his height advantage. It’s going to be extremely difficult for Floyd to get inside and counter punch. Floyd is the better boxer but in this fight It could get ugly for Floyd basically because of his physical advantage. Paul is a freak of nature, he’s going to fight Pavlik in december. That’s going to be a fuckin war.

Floyd(Cherry Picker) aint go get no respect until he fights someone in his weight class. Breaching the contract and showing up as a middleweight to a welterweight fight means he should have knocked JMM out by the 3rd round and he couldnt..
a pacquio fight is a waste of time since again, he’s the bigger man, a middleweight fighting a welterweight.. Vitali/Klitschko are currently the best fighters in the world right now. Not only do they beat everyone in their weight class, they technically should and would beat anyone below their weight class..
They both fight all comers, and never duck fights waiting for a top opponent to “get old” before they decide to fight them….hint hint…
If the day comes when they start fighting and beating up on welterweights, lightweights, middleweights and flyweights , they will lose my respect.

Mayweather is the best out right now and one of my favorites. But honestly, this fight was BORING and he is looking more and more like the old Mayweather. First of all-Mayweather did not beat Marquez’s ass! Alot of people wanted to see Mayweather knock Marquez out, but he didn’t!!! The fight had to go to decision and yes it was clear that Mayweather won all rounds and yes he knocked him off his feet in the second round….but that was it!!! He couldn’t knock Marquez out!!! If Mayweather was such a bad ass champ like some of ya’ll ignorant asses think he is he would of knocked Marquez out and left no room for anyone to dispute that. Okay Mr. Mayweather selected this opponent as his big comeback…what a joke! He knew he’d win, he knew he could beat him in speed and points…even the commentators agreed that if Marquez would have gotten him in a corner he wouldn’t stand a chance…yes, I agree with Mike in regards to his comment: “He’s a defensive masterful boxer. It’s all about hit and not get hit and nobody can challenge him in that department. You don’t have to like his boxingstyle but you gotta give props to him for being extremely skilled and Mayweather has perfected that style” Hello yes I agree no other fighter is a pro at dodging punches like Mayweather-fucking wuss afraid to get an ass whooping! yes hit and not be hit his punk ass should of been a wrestler…at least then you know it’s fake! In many cases Floyd is the type of boxer that you need to be a hardcore boxingfan to enjoy his way of boxing. A lot of Random fans think he’s boring.
Floyd is not a KO artist. And he was up against Marquez who is a counter puncher so I didn’t expect him to KO marquez. Floyd put on a typical Floyd performance. This is how he fights and he completely outboxed Marquez and took him to school. Floyd is the best boxer in the world and no matter what style his opponents have he can adjust and wins the fights. It was fun to see him make Marquez look like he didn’t belong in the same ring. It takes a lot of hard work and super talent to make something look so easy.
It’s one thing if you don’t like the way he fights but if you can’t see how great of a boxer he is and dissmiss him because you think he’s boring then you don’t know anything about boxing and is most likely not a fan of the sport in the first place. I’m not a huge fan of Floyd I have other favorite fighters and I prefer more aggressive minded fighters, but as a boxing fan I appreciate all styles. And I have to admit that Floyd is pound 4 pound the illest boxer in the world. He’s simply amazing.

Fightguy u dont know what your talkin about, middleweight is at 160lbs., floyd was 146 for the fight idiot! All these guys are bums starting with Mosley (Steroids and he ran from Floyd years ago, but nobody wants to talk about that), Margarito (had to load his gloves to win a fight), Cotto (he is strong but has a weak chin), Paul Williams (he will give floyd the most trouble but then again floyd would probably whip him; Floyd beat the shit out of Corrales who was a better fighter than Williams back when they fought and floyd dropped him five times) and last but not least Manny Paciaquo (this will be too easy for Floyd, Marquez was rockin Manny both of those fights for the entire fight and Marquez couldnt even hit Floyd so what does that tell you!) All these guys has no defensive so what do you think that mean when they fight arguably the fastest boxer this sport has ever seen, they all will take too many punches just like Marquez did. And why do people get mad cuz he move around the ring (thats what your taught to do from the very first time you learn how to box and thats point of having feet, duh). Moving around the ring, head movement and blocking punches are all a part of defense and FLOYD is the best at it. The point of boxing is land the most punches and get hit the least isnt it? That like saying the Patroits only score all they points by passing the ball.

Floyd even refused when hbo’s ask them to step on a weight scale before they step into the ring.. This fight proved nothing except what we already knew, Mayweather is fast and Marquez was much smaller but has big heart. Mayweather proved nothing thats why true fight fans have gotten fed up with the ppv nonsense. Ricky Hatton was a legit notch on his belt but if you want to be known as the greatest you cant side step Mosley, Coto , Berto, Clottey , and if you really wanted me to spend ppv money during these financially challenging times call Paul Williams or Corey Spinks who can easily come down to 147 from 154. Marquez fought 2 classes higher than his weight but Mayweather hasn’t finished in his own class yet to be called best pfp fighter. Give me a fight thats worth wading through the boring preliminary fights and the $50.00 price tag

WOW, it’s pretty obvious most of are cock hungry for Mayweather. For the reasons he doesn’t get respect let’s go down the list shall we: He picked Marquez an opponent whom is smaller, slower, older, and pretty much past his prime; two years ago when guys like Margarito, Williams, and Cotto where coming into the scene he decides to retire not because he’s done anything that can be considered significant(I don’t consider beating a past his prime De La Hoya an accomplishment), but simply because he doesn’t want to risk his perfect record or put any real effort into his fights and simply come back at a more convenient time; he prices himself to avoid tough fights, the fact the he can do this is a huge disrespect and embarrassment to the sport; and most of all he’s an arrogant, self-centered, bitch who doesn’t fight for the love of the sport, but simply for the money it makes him. For those of you that say that he should fight Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, or Williams, while it’s true it’s not really the point. The point is that he SHOULD have already fought them at this point. The reason Pacman get respect is because he acts more humble about his skill and doesn’t fell the need to talk so much shit and actually FINISHES his fights. He destroyed De La Hoya a feat Mayweather was unable to do and mauled Hatton in the second round. Mayweather simply talks a lot of shit to stay relevant at all costs and to build hype for all his fights.
