Trey Songz performed in front of an enthusiastic crowd of loyal fans last night @ The Canal Room in NYC. The performance was in celebration of the release of his latest album, “Ready,” which is on sale now. Drake announced Trey Songz as the greatest R&B singer of our generation at the start of the concert. Trey performed songs of the album such as, “Lol 
,” & “Say Ahhh,” along with older hits.
As for as Drake’s comment goes, is Trey Songz better than Ne-Yo & The Dream?

i think trey might be better singer than ne-yo and dream, but if your talking about overall aritst…you gotta think about how ne-yo and the dream have penned alotta hits as well as their own

He’s a great talent but he is nowhere near the greatest. He’s not on Neyo, The Dream, or Chris Brown’s level. The music and the numbers show that.

I agree, he might not have the singles others have but he’s the only R&B artist I can listen to and not skip songs (…new R.Kelly).

i agree with drake, i think he does things others cant do on songs with vocals and acapella performances. Ne-yo is more like mj before the transformation solid performer a point singer. the dream is a great songwriter not great singer on stage live you never get thet record you brought. chris brown is good voice got a lot growing that might not never happen wont vocals still need work he’s the new usher. trey is the kellz and like we use2/still say kellz king of r&b and now trey is next up

Far better singer than Ne-Yo, Dream and Chris Brown without a doubt. Ne-yo is a very talented artists and songwriter. You cant take that away from him. But in terms of out singing eachother, Trey Songz would win that argument all day. Dream is a decent songwriter I guess, but without a studio, he sounds like $hit, hell, he sounds like $hit with a studio. Chris Brown is a great entertainer, but lets face it, he cant sing all that great. Nasally ass. pre-pubescent voice. I’d pick Trey in a singing contest all day.

Let’s face it none of them are all that great vocalist. They are only decent. Chris Brown is an entertainer not a great singer. Bring back Sisqo. Say what you want about him but that nigga could sing.

Chris not even real competition he cant sing anyone who knows anything about singing and has a real ear KNOWS he cant sing Chris is only great to young girls hes like a studio singer
He will never have a real crown in the music industry
Trey is dope and he will have a crown
His music has meaning and so does neyos

Cb can barely sing
They all can write
Chris just started COWRITING which dont really mean shit…..
Neyo songs are starting to sound alike

Neyo and Chris Brown are pop stars …..Neyo’s writing is overrated. I don’t think he’s garbage or anything but I find his shit average at best. Dream can’t sing. As far as these new generation R&B cats go Trey takes that #1 spot. Only thing he lacking is a hit song. All them other dudes lack SOUL…they pop acts

Trey is better than them all ,he’s also better then most of these rapper out and Trey shows that on his mix-tapes and he might not have as much years of songwriting as Ne-Yo and the Dream But he dose write they just been in the game longer.

I mean no disrespect but what hit songs does Trey Songz have? Like really…he has been around for like 5 years really just getting by. R&B is no different than rap. This is like saying Joe B is the best rapper out there when he only may excel in a couple of facet’s of what its all about. Ne-Yo has been hitting niggaz over the head for years now with hit after hit after hit. Ne-Yo is not getting songs donated to him (succesful) and Ne-Yo is pop because the R&B he makes is popular with people. Dig?

Trey Songz is the biggest under achiever in R&B. He has all the talent in the world but he hasn’t even put it to use. He’s been around 5 years and has only sold 750,000 thousand albums and no real notable hits to speak of. How can he be next in line for the throne with songs like LOL

Trey Songz has the overall look (no homo) compared to the Dream and Ne-Yo. He is a better singer than Ne-Yo and The Dream. He just doesn’t have that machine around him that Ne-Yo and The Dream has. He is just now starting to get some major love from his label. It take money to make money in the music game no a days… talent alone does not do it… especially when people are getting paid under the table to play records and videos. Trey songz has to take this energy and buzz that both he and drake has and keep the train going.
The male r & b game want to be taken over and trey could do it. Lets face it R.Kelly (even though he still delivers) and Chris Brown have both did themselves disservices and have forever lost fans.
