T Pain ethered himself. Jay Z and Eminem are the only artists that can make you ether ourself when you call them out, especially out of nowhere. No matter if you agree with Jay or not, T Pain just lost thousands and thoousands of fans. You lose credibility as a person when you attack someone who is the greatest at ther craft. I actually like T Pain, but again, he just lost his respect as an artist from me personally.

@7 – I’m not making that statement based off his past albums. I sat down yesterday and listened to the whole album from beginning to end and the production, lyrics and overall structure of the album is amazing. I was one of the few who listened to the leaks and got a bit worried of the outcome of the album. But when you listen to it as a full body of work, its absolutely a GREAT album. It may not have a bunch of radio smashes but every song (except Off That – the production is distracting) is great and Jay Z kills every verse and every bar. Give it a listen again with some headphones on and listen how this dude just rips it. And, the production, which I questioned iniatially, is truly amazing. This CD is different then what most people are used to hearing – it pushes the art form further. He switches the style up from song to song. The production reaches new creativity and he hits the beat every time. This may not be his best album, I’ll agree to that, but it is a classic album in my opinion.

And, I am a hip hop head. I’m not a young dude that jocks the “popular” rapper. I’m critical of the music I listen to and I appreciate good music of any genre. And as a hip hop head, I label this album is a classic… in my opinion.

Good points and well said but at the end of the day I don’t feel there is any record on there that makes me think, which is why i say it isn’t a classic. I look at “ready to die”, “GRODT, AND MAKAVELI as classics because they made you “beg the question” about certian issues. Shit GRODT endend Ja Rules career (the bigest rapper at the time) along with the biggest label (murder inc. ) Thats what I call classic

I agree with #16…his appeasement approach is annoying…I agree with #14…he has no right to tell anyone how to make music…because as he pointed out not everyone even thinks the music he makes is great (although i think he’s a very great rapper) And yes people will team up against him because he thinks he’s above the craft that helped make him who he is (”I don’t rap anymore I run the map”) Never think you’re bigger than your nucleus because that’s when the slippery slope begins…he’s not a god or even a demi-god to be acting as such…his album was very good so he should just stick to that…shit No-ID even said he had a whole album’s worth of Auto-tune tracks ready before he changed his mind now he wants to bring it down….behave yourself lol

I agree with 14… I really dont understand how why Jayz is held in such high reguard… Reasonable Doubt is a classic but none of his other shit is classic material… Its good but not that great. One thing he is, is consistent but why is Blueprint considered a classic… Izzo hola hovito girls girls girls… how are those at all classic songs.. First of all all of you need to chill, the album just came out and everybody jumping on the wagon calling it a classic. Classic albums have to do certain things before you can say it’s a classic. This album could flop (not likely) but give it a chance to breath. Second you must allow the public to get a hold of it and fully analyze it before we can agree that it is a classic.

I do agree with some of you that say that people are using Jay’s past success and want nothing more than to be the first to call it a classic.

With that being said I do like the album, it is an album you can listen to from beginning to end, but classic. lets be patient and see.
