Nas doesnt want to get on the trac cuz Rae aint say anything new. Nas subject matter and Rae subject matter are two different things. Next year will be 15 years since OBFCL came out. Rae hasnt grown he still has the same concepts and ideas. Look at nas last project no wonder he dont want to get on this album.

u sound ignorant..Untitled was probably his best album..def one of the best albums in the last couple years.
Untitled and The Recession were the top 2 albums of last year..IMO

Why you think Rae named the album OB4CL2 because he trying to recreate the time when he was most hot and capitalize off it. Cuz if the album didnt have that title would people care??? I like Rae but that shit is just rude.

Nas just got off tour, is in the middle of a nasty divorce which is looking like its going to cost him a pretty penny, his first son was just born & he wasn’t allowed in the room & probably isn’t getting to see him as much as he would want …and you think a guest spot is on his mind? seriously…people should be allowed to go through human shit regardless of whether they are a celebrity or not.

people always like to aim for Nas’ head when dude is going through shit…just like when his mom died…shit is crazy…I swear he is held to a higher standard both musically & character wise than anyone else in the industry

yo Marty Mcfly I understand 100% what you mean. I don’t agree with the dudes on here bashing you for your opinion. I kinda thought the same thing. But I don’t think Nas intentionally didn’t want to get on it though. LIke somone esle pointed out Nas has ALOT of shit going on in his life(the divorce with Kelis and his own collab album with Damian Marley as well as the charity project they are setting up).

But Nas’ subject matter has transended what it once was and then some. Nas has gone from being a streetwise stickup kid, to a young rising mafioso(the phase he was in when he was rollin with the Wu)to a short lived pop star, to a spiritual enforcer, and so on. As he stands now he is more of a political rapper. Raekwon has really not evolved to different themes or concepts. All his metaphors still pretane to cocain, guns, sex and so on. Not really a bad thing.

But the good thing about Nas is what critics seem to bash him for his contradicitons(or what I call versatility). Kanye even said it himself “Nas can do a song with P.Diddy and then do a song with Wu-Tang and BOTH of them will be hot”. Nas is able to switch his style at the drop of a hat, so I’m sure he would have been able to take a break from his political themes and switch it back to the old “Nasty Nas/escobar” days(Much like he did with “Where Ya’ll At” and with “Queens Get The Money”.
